I like round pens and small arenas for fist rides as a safety thing. You want your first ride quiet but they are still animals with their own brain. I try to get out the round pen and into big spaces as soon as I can
I have a decent sized roundpen I'll be riding her in. That way, if she acts up, she can't run off and I'll have an easier time grabbing her to pull her head out of her ass lol
Good! Ground work goes a long way. IÂ’m proof. First ride ever for my 4 year old was 10 some miles in a national park in Utah. SheÂ’d never been ridden before and she did better than her seniors. Getting that trust is worth it.
I don't understand my one teacher. The rule was to respond to 2 peers and I did. and than I lost points because I need to 'remember to respond to more than 2 of your peers'. Usually its not a problem because I respond to 3 or 4 but its been a shitty week and I barely had energy to turn in assignments. But my point is, if you're requiring 3, say so in the instructions.
She also hasn't been ridden in several years. So, I'm using the hot weather to build up that trust on the ground. I already decided that I wouldn't get up there till I felt we had a sense of trust for each other
My stallion likes to act tough, but he is incredibly careful with me under saddle. But I will be wishing you luck! Those first several rides, figuring it all out can have you on pins and needles.

Aw poor baby girl. Showing is hard. ItÂ’s even harder to find good trainers. I have my stallion I need to finish for the showring and his yearling son I have to prep. Just donÂ’t really trust anyone to start them for me.
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

Choose a Background for your horse.
Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
