So you would do one basking bulb and one deep heat projector?

So I would do two-
If the enclosures temps are way too high during the day with the basking bulb shut off one of those Deep Heat Projectors.

Yeah, like I said my house gets down to 65 at night so that is my biggest concern.
Wraithcry Farm
07:00:28 Trigger 🐾
For a 4x2x2 the max I have put on is two, and that was in the winter.
I temp control my reptile room- it stays between 75-80 always. So I do not need as much heat in the enclosures as someone without that would

Well, bulb and deep heat projector it is then. XD I just hope I don't have to put 5 of them in the enclosure. =/

06:57:20 Trigger 🐾
Well, for the mild side they sometimes have not produced adequate heat
And on the severe side I have had several catch fire.
I do not recommend them due to the issues I have had with them.
I have heated 8 foot enclosures with Deep Heat Projectors with no issues getting the right temps. It all comes down to amount of bulbs and the bulbs wattage
Hummingbird Meadows

Yup, I would get that for measuring surface temps and then one thermometers for each side.

You can always do it and try it out so see if it works good enough. I recommend getting a laser thermometer if you don't have one already those things are awesome then you can check the temp through the entire enclosure

Do you think a DHP is good for ambient temperature?
Hummingbird Meadows
06:55:17 Hummer
@Trigger, may I ask in what way?
Wraithcry Farm
06:55:00 Trigger 🐾
I have never had an issue with Deep Heat Projectors myself, have had issues with Radiant Heat Panels though.

So, should I risk getting a basking bulb and deep heat projector and hope it warms my enclosure enough?

I just want something automatic in case I get busy and forget lol. The moss needs to stay damp or it'll dry up

I for one just use a regular basking bulb for the day time on one end of the enclosure (heats to proper temp of course) then it gets turned off at night. Thats how I have always done it and have no issues :) night temp drops are healthy as long as its not too cold
Hummingbird Meadows
06:52:22 Hummer
@Trigger, I am thinking a radiant heat panel is the safest option because I KNOW it will give me the temps I want, but the heat isn't bioavailable.
Hummingbird Meadows
06:51:38 Hummer
My house gets down to 65 at night and I feel like those bulbs only warm the spot directly below so my ambient temps would be too low for a BP.
Wraithcry Farm
06:51:38 Trigger 🐾
Depends on wattage hummer. You want there to be a gradient within the enclosure, a warm and cool side. When I had my 4x2x2s and when I get these boas enclosures deep heat projector and basking bulb is what I will have. The boas will be bigger. 8 foot

06:50:22 Trigger 🐾
I use the pump sprayers haha.
I have not fully decided on whether we will continue doing basking lights or just switching to deep heat projector once his basking light burns out
Hummingbird Meadows

So, I am officially getting a ball python and I don't know how to heat the enclosure. >.< I am part of the Reptile Lightning facebook group and they say it is healthiest to use a basking bulb and DHP, but I'm not sure those two bulbs would warm a 4x2x2 PVC enlcosure.
