Min, we were talking about whether the price difference between the #1 and #2 boy is justified simply because the dam of the #1 is higher on the LB herself.

Lyra has produced mediocre foals as well. So it's pretty much rf and the stallion's strength as well. Ceres has produced a handful of strong offspring
Minerva
I mean Ceres was the #1 ABLB so I don't think its fair to say he isn't good. But it does seem to be an "if it works it works" situation with his foals and unfortunately for me it doesnt work with Nym and none of the other girls are good enough to have that much money spent on them
Ambrosia
For Solaris in particular the dam really took over. That same cross also produced a mid WBLB stud who is legit mediocre.
Centura stable
Craic I think, someone tell me if this is incorrect, that it is the all breeds leaderboard, though dont know how you make it onto there
Ambrosia
And I think his strength is because his dam is a beast, not because Ceres is good
Ambrosia
I've watched his foals like a hawk seeing what crosses seem to work and what don't. He is definitely not one I plan to use, doesn't seem to pull much weight himself
Minerva
Yeah I definitely don't have Ceres in any of my plans anymore- he's given me WWWs with Nymeria but theyve all been mediocre at best. Fingers crosses Solaris works with her better 😁

Basquia's dam was never on any ablb, yet produced Basquias who produced other ablb horses as well. Just as an example. Same for the #1 pon boy .
Ambrosia
Ceres has produced some real shit though so I'll take the chance of something stronger for 50k
