I agree the only animal we have ever had to put down is a horse we had owned for 9 days and we only put her down because she was in pain and was already dying

I couldn't just leave her and knowing she would have died didn't settle with me when she clearly has a few years left. no animal should be put down unless its a circumstance that's crucial. I don't agree with putting a dog down when they are healthy unless it's a behavioral issue of some sort

our situation was we found the owners and they basically kept giving us numerous different stories before saying you either keep the dog or she will be put down inhumanely

I think she realized that we weren't going to dump her somewhere like her owners did and she is safe. its sad what these animals go through when owners don't care about them and dump them places. poor baby is going deaf and blind and the only family she knew discarded her.
