From the game guide: When breeding, the foal's mature height will be the average of the parents +/- a random factor. Foals will start out at 10 Hands and each day grow a little bit. It will take about 60 real life days for a foal to reach it's mature height. Height comes into play somewhat with breeding Sport Ponies and Sport Horses to determine which breed the foal is.
