Gem, Well, they do also squawk occasionally. No bird is completely quiet, though. If you want a singer, go for canaries. Get two |

Birds are tough pets, and many are available for adoption, which I would recommend rather than going through a breeder/importer. I don't know about a good beginner bird, most would think about parrots or keets but i wonder if smaller finches or a lovebird make good beginners |

Talkin' about birds, anyone know of any pets birds that are beginner friendly and don't make bird sounds all day. lol ;P |

Loony, Colours! The male tends to be darker and more bold than the females. Females tend to be more of an orange, and their back can be as faded as brown if it isn't grey. |

Sandy, Bring it in closer to your porch. Hawks are pretty smart, but if they can't dive easily, they likely won't try |

crowley if you don't mind me asking How do you know the difference between a male and a female robin (i'm curious and i am quite new to the bird world) |

I'm just afraid to put the feeder back out. We have a Hawk that stakes out our backyard knowing we were feeding the little birds. |
