I lucked out and had an amazing pediatrician who also practiced family medicine, so I had the same doctor until I got my own insurance and had to switch. Personally, I've found that female doctors take me (female) more seriously
I'm switching doctors but staying in the same clinic so we'll see how it goes. New one is also female so maybe she won't blame everything on hormones and actually listen when I ask questions
@Void - I think I'm quite lucky that the hospital I work at really pushes patient centred care and patients are constantly involved in the decision making process
My hematologist is one of them. I spend 30 minutes in the waiting room, see the nurse for vitals, wait another 30 minutes. See him for maybe 10 minutes in which case he just tells me what he's going to do and then immediately fucks off.
