I shouldn't have to reset a breaker over a shredder, so they need to figure it out one way or another lol |

Sounds like everything is pulling too much power and flipping the breakers |

Like I can't even use a microwave. It trips it over and over and over. And what's worse is that it has its very own breaker switch... And trips it, all on its own. |
SCF Sporting Chance |
Absolutely..it is there responsibility.. maybe your outlets are not grounded... and it is overloading the circuits. |

Sandy, They CLAIM if it happens while we're here, we're responsible. And I assume that's why they chose to keep their lips sealed, is hoping that they could go, "you broke it, YOU fix it!" like our prior landlords did... |
Moonless Shore |
I thought the landlord had to be responsible for fixing issues like that with houses? Am I wrong? |
Versailles |
SCF, We've had an electrician out, it happens all over the house... He doesn't think it's the wiring, he says the breaker is a cheap piece of you know what. But we'll ask them to take a look again. I just don't have $600 to pay this out of nowhere, this NEEDS to be the landlord's issue, not mine... |

One of my favorite game streamers had a fight with their landlord because they called the ambulance. There was a gas leak or something that could have been deadly. It does seem like landlords don't want to do what they should. |
SCF Sporting Chance |
Versa, If it keeps tripping there could be faulty wiring somewhere.. please be careful.. It could be a fire hazard. |
Versailles |
And I'm sorry but since I was lied to, I want lower rent fees and some of my money back. This house is NOT worth as much as they claim, with all of these problems. |
Versailles |
Electrician said this would've been a problem for a WHILE, it didn't just pop up the second my gaming PC showed up... So, this isn't something I caused, and therefore isn't a me issue. So far the landlord refuses. So I think it's going to turn into a very real battle, sadly... They never, ever want to take responsibility. |
Moonless Shore |
Gosh. I hope this situation gets resolved in a way that is beneficial to you Versa. So sorry about this. |
Moonless Shore |
I usually don't like confrontational advice, but you are paying to live there. There is no way they can expect anyone to live like that. |
Versailles |
If it was occasional, I'd just suck it up for the two years I'm going to live here until my new house is built, but 18 times daily over NORMAL household items? I can't. |
Versailles |
Sandy, I definitely asked and there's no way they weren't aware of this. I'm convinced they lied. This house is only five years old... |
Moonless Shore |
Versa, you have solid points. If you can't even live there reasonably then they need to be accountable for that. You even asked. |
Versailles |
I'm sorry, but I shouldn't have to worry about the power DYING when I'm using the shower because the water heater trips it... |
Versailles |
Wolf, There's potential we could get money out of that and decreased rent payment. It's not like this is a livable condition, who takes ice showers every day? Or refuses to use a microwave or stovetop? "Livable" my left foot! |
