Oh, oh! Talking about neighborhood animal sounds... one neighhor (like 1,000 feet away) has about 7 chickens and at least one rooster, we can here them sometimes. And the 'wildlife preserve' behind us has elk and they are starting to bugle! O.o
Oh that's nice! I'd read lots of places say no to chickens. I can understand, they don't really understand property lines and to stay off of roads? Not to mention the chicken sounds/smell if there are enough.
We can have chickens in my current neighborhood. But I wanted to do the rat shed first. If I am going to breed boas then I need to start breeding my own feeders.
And I also do not wanna pay a shit load for a show horse and not be able to show. At each show me and my trainer dissect what I did well, and what I need to work on. There would be none of that at my own place
That is also what concerns us too Puck. I am driving to Texas in March. All I gotta do is hire my friends for the rats and snakes and my hubby will take care of the furry companions
Yeah. And there's beauty in boarding. My friend's always boarded and two years ago she moved her horse to her backyard and now she's miserable because she can't just up and leave for the weekend and travelling is always a hassle, etc
See, I live in a suburb but I love my house so the idea of moving right now kills me. That being said if I end up with a show horse I am not going to just move them to the hobby farm, they will be kept at the barn so I can continue training and showing them We are also doing upgrades to the house. Even buying a shed so I can raise rats. So like, no moving yet haha
Not sure if we would have cows. We may haha. We want chickens for sure and horses. But it depends on what I purchase horse wise- if I purchase a show horse then I am keeping it at my current barn
