So I have asked where we are allowed to live. I personally live in town, not in the country. This town has been around for hundreds of years. Everywhere you live, no matter what you are going to run into animals. Whether they cause harm or not beats me. That being said, just like they have a right to attack me, I have a right to defend myself. I have small dogs, my neighbors have small children, who also reserve the right to be outside playing. So how do we handle a predatory animal coming into my neighborhood? We have no animal control that would do any different than I would.
Mullen mouth bits (especially soft ones) have worked nicely with a very reactive mare I have who is very small in the mouth, might be worth a try if you have access to one :)
trigger i don't want to have a debate in chat, but i think that line of thinking is very short-sighted. we have the ability to live almost anywhere on the planet, and to drastically change our way of life with technology. other animals can't. it's our responsibility to change, not their's.
I think Secret the mare I am talking about rides in a curb. But I could be wrong. They tried every snaffle but she gave clear pain signals, the curb she is way happy in. But as said, she is hardly ridden anymore. My barn owner is trying to convince her daughter to half lease her for someone to show because she is phenomenal. Just being stubborn.
When was the vet check done? Prior to or after the behavior started? If it was prior too, another check would not hurt. After that, look into switching out the bits.
Exactly Void. I cannot remember what she is in, she belongs to barn owners daughter, but she is not ridden by anybody but barn owners daughter. Which sucks because she just kinda sits there, all that wasted talent.
