We had an old guy at the barn who's owner never treated him for Cushings. Unsure why maybe because he was so old. But he ended up getting laminitis really bad. It spread to his coffin bone and he couldn't stand. They ended up euthanazing him
My old mare has cushing, too. She foundered hard 4 years ago and I almost had to put her down. But she recovered with special meds and treatment and get´s now ridden again at 28yo!
Honestly I completely forgot about cushings as a possibility I'll give the rescue a call see if they had any testings done if not I'll get her done to see
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
