My lab chipped a tooth on a hard chew toy and it was expensive to have it removed.

Not as much anymore... The issue has been addressed in many rope toy brands.

Hence why the rope toys are safe to swallow... Dogs forever and always swallow bits of their toys.

I would be careful with rope toys, can cause obstructions

Oh yes we dont have small toys anymore except for our kitten and she has them in her playpen where she sleeps at night. I will definitely put that in my cart @Versa

Oh I think I know what you are talking about! I have one but he doesnt seem to be interested in it @Angels

My dog used to be the same way. He would destroy any toy no mater how strong it was. The only toy he was never able to destroy was this green rubber toy shaped like an hour glass. The shape of it didn't let him get a grip on it with his teeth to break it. I have never been able to find one since. This was like 7 or 8 years ago

Well, big dogs and little dogs cause that sort of ordeal. You cannot have tiny toys anymore because it's a choking hazard for the bigger one.

We had a rope toy with a ball on the end that was made out of rope and it was completely destroyed in 2 days 🥲 The balls were for my little dogs and he got ahold of one and I was freaking out the whole time. We had them put up and he still managed to find them so we gifted them to my sisters little dogs

Well, when choosing bones anyways it's gotta be something large. Never ever a chicken bone or something small enough to swallow.

Toys should be the same way.

Have you tried rope toys? Or enrichment feeders? I had a very chewy dog and there were some that he never made it through.

Im hesitant about bones because he has a habit of trying to swallow food like things completely. We had to get rid of the balls because he shoved one in his mouth and we had a hard time getting it back out and away from him...lesson learned from that. Im looking for something to play with him with that he isnt going to be destroyed easily so he doesnt get hurt

I need a new drawing device October 18, 2024 11:46 AM

So I've been using a crusty old iPad mini 4 from 2015, with just my fingers to do all my manips. As it's coming up on its 10 year anniversary, I'm considering getting a new device (that and the fact that the battery lasts an hour and it's starting to lag when I have a lot of layers lol). I'm an avid Apple hater, they're expensive, broken, and just not as good as android. HOWEVER I've only ever used procreate, have bought $40 worth of brushes, and I honestly love the program so much. Since all I'm going to be doing on this device is draw and perhaps take lecture notes, I'm willing to go with Apple (you hear that procreate? I love you that much). But I'm also considering getting a Wacom/Huion/etc. tablet, buying an app (do they come with their own drawing app?), plus a computer and monitor to run it. Problem is I want Photoshop, but there's no way in hell I'm paying $30 a month for it (I can't believe they still charge that much even with a student discount). I'm also scared to learn a new program. Anyways, this was a long rant, but the point is, what would you recommend I do?
.
Tldr: Need a new drawing device/app, recommendations?

I use a Wacom Intuos screenless tablet with my laptop(also has Bluetooth but I don't use it lol) and use Krita for art since it's free, it's got TONS of brushes available by default, and there are a lot available on DA and other sites for free, AND it's super easy to make your own brushes. As yet another added bonus, I can animate and rearrange pretty much everything to my liking :3 Oh, and I've never once had it take a shit and crash, even with my potato of a laptop xD

Oh, and I wanted to add, I no longer use my mouse or trackpad, I use my tablet for that instead, very handy! (though I don't recommend this as I fear I may develop carpal tunnel syndrome :'3)

I tried Ibis paint free before, and I didn't like the layout at all. Is the paid version any different?

Do you find Krita is easy to work with, is it lacking in any way (as far as you've noticed)? I need a clone tool, layer attributes (multiply/overlay/soft light/etc), and I need to get good hair brushes.

Oh there's so many layer attributes I don't know what 7/8ths of them do😅It does have a clone tool, and there's a ton of free hair brushes out there, I have like 15 xD Everything's very streamlined and functional(for want of a better word) in its design and layout. It took me maybe 3-5 days to learn it originally, and pretty much everything is customizable.

Sage.. you can try Affinity for 6 months for free 6 month free Affinity Trial it is compatible with alot of PS brushes and files and some other programs as well.. and it works very much like PS.. if you decide to buy it.. it is still better than a monthly subscription.. and it has other personas if you are a designer or writer.. that you can add or get bundled.. I have all of them... though I mainly use photo. I LOVE it! It was really a super gamechanger in my art and learning. I also use the WACOM Intuos Pro... I reall love this as well... I have come along way from Gimp and a mouse pad.. (though Gimp was a great free learning tool... but it was tedious to use... that was way back when.. I hope they have made it easier to use... I do recommend it as a free choice especially for the beginning artists). Oh.. and I LOVE my Mac! I have only had minor issues with it over the years.. but I have had it over 10 years now and if I had a PC.. I would probably be on my 20th one or so... I went through like 3 or 4 PC's in like 5 years.. (so suseptible to viruses.. they constantly crashed). Not one virus on this MAC. Nor the need for all the discs for software updates.... UGH.. I hated that on the PC>
