I have been recently riding a semi retired hunter/jumper named Golden Eye(I believe it is due to her buckskin coat, but not 100% sure because she was free) Ive been wanting to start jumping for a while and my mom said I can once I get a XC vest. I want to get Golden Eye matching a matching saddle pad, polos and maybe a bonnet(still undecided on the bonnet) and the colors I were thinking were burgundy or forest green, and depending on the color it could come in glitter if I buy from somewhere other than Dover. Thoughts please? Shes a buckskin so I want what will watch the best.

I quite like Hunter Green, its darker than forest green and personally I think darker colours look smarter.
If it was me, I'd refrain from the glitter. I heard a trainer once talk about this, he said that they end up looking like four legged disco balls if you over do it with the diamonds and glitter.
I think it's best to go with what you like best, or otherwise you're going to get people like me who don't share your taste and may deter you from buying what you like best. Don't listen to people's opinions. Edited at June 29, 2019 10:40 AM by Mediterranean

I would go for the glitter if i were you. But thats just me. Im training to barrel race so for us it's the more bling the better.

I also like hunter green. It's my color for my chestnut and its became one of my favorite colors :) I'd say definitely no glitter though.

Glitter is fun for at home but not out competing

I, personally, would deck out a buckskin in black to match the horse's points. Black goes with anything, so you could put a splash of color on yourself if you felt like it. Plus jumping is very formal and conservative. The only type of competition in the horse world that's more straight-laced is dressage.

I think that Hunters is there with dressage.

After further investigation, shes actually a buckskin dun(the only difference is the dorsal stripe) so black, burgundy or hunter green are going to be my go tos. Thank you all for the help
