So. Ummmmm. I'm getting a bit frustrated with my mare recently.
She is a small 15hh Paint Mare with the most mareish attitude ever. We recently took her to the vet and had her treated/injected because she has slight navicular changes in her front legs. Not a big deal. THEN... she has to go poke her damn leg on the barbed wire in the pasture, get an infection and leave me stranded riding the ponies until she can be ridden again. Of course this has to happen during competition season. More specifically the season we move up to 3'6" hunters (which yes she is vet cleared to do). I'm giving her all the time she needs but these last couple weeks I have been getting incredibly anxious to ride a broke and ready to go horse. I'm thinking she will be ok by next Wednesday though.
I'll keep y'all updated on her and any of the others if you want. We currently have 3 projects going (2 quarters and a Paint Welsh cross).

That is so frustrating! I feel like anytime I have plans with my horses they end up throwing shoes or getting beat up or going lame. It's like they know!

Tell me about it my pony is accident prone we've had the best couple of months and we were all set for our second show out and about and the day after we put deposit on trailer he came up lame doing this weird walk thing it's taken like a month to heal up and we are slowly getting him back into work but he always has something wrong with him. Good luck with the project horses and well done for moving up to 3'6" hunters! Edited at July 23, 2019 04:13 AM by Oak valley

Exactly, they're plotting for vacation time.

Thank you! Mariah is headed back home to Nebraska for a year or so to give her time to adjust and be ridden lightly. I don't feel comfortable completing her so back to my grandparents she goes while I work with Uber (my project).
