I have a stud pony named Saddle. He thinks he is the size of my 16hh neighbors horse but he is actually about 7hh. He is a miniature pony. So to this story there are three or four sides. A sad side, a cute side, a funny side, and "Why the he'll did he do that?" side.
About 7 years ago we had a house we bought. We went on vacation and got a call. My uncle yelled into the phone our house had burnt to the ground in the middle of the night. When we got home we had lost everything but our animals. This included 2 ponies a mare and her foal. The foal was scared of the sirens and all the people. He had never seen them before. We got an investigator to investigate the case. He apparently thought our horses had burnt the house down.
We moved the horses because of the foal. We left the foal and mare and moved the ponies to my neighbors field. He had a large quarter horse mare and a quarter horse stallion. Well my little stud pony hated that stallion! He got angry he was messing with the two mares. He kicked the stallion in the night and got into a fight. The stallion reared and misjudged where he was and fell backwards on the barbed wire fence. The next morning my neighbor found the stallion and his knee was cut to pieces.
He was not angry at us or the horses just at the vet bull. He said it was an honest mistake and locked the stallion up in the barn so that the mare we had wouldn't kill the ponies for messing with the colt. All in all my stud thinks hes a stallion NOT a 7hh miniature horse stud!

Sorry about your house!
Well, he is a stallion. Just because he is small doesn't mean he's not fueled by testosterone like any other stallion. Edited at January 31, 2018 02:44 PM by Cappuccino

So sorry about your house! My family raises miniature horses---we have about 50 of them :) Love them, and of course they're my favorite breed! We don't allow our minis in with larger horses...too much of a risk of injury. The little stallions definitely don't lack in testosterone and instinct to guard "their" mares. Wish you all the best and hoping for a quick recovery to the injured horsey!

He was not ours and he completley recovered! They wound up selling him because he didnt want the mare pregnant and us to be exposed to that kind of stuff. My neighbor is a very thoughtful man. And I know he is a stallion that is why we don't let him in with large horses! My house had been recovered that was 7 years ago.

I have a mini that we rescued and he was gelded way to late (around 6 years) so he still thinks he is a stallion. He would be super dangerous if he was a 15hh horse lol.

Yea. That's the issue with a lot of animals not just horses. We had a gelding we bought but he was just half gelded and was nuts!
