I hope it helps.. I have cleaned LOOOOOOTS of tack and use to work at a saddle shop and was the one who would clean up used saddles and tack for resale. I learned alot.

I've never really cleaned tack before, but it's always seemed like so much fun since I have so much spare time.

Depends on the leather itself, if the colour of the leather is spotty, the Neadsfoot oil will make the darker spots even darker.

Do you think it would make the saddle spotty? I guess it's kind of patchy, would the oil make it worse?

some spots may never come completely out.. I always put it on the rag first and I work from the lighter areas to the darker to try to even it out.
