I made this forum post absolutely ages ago when I first got my little dood but I've had him for nearly 2 and a half years now 🤯
I bought him as a 9 year old and he'll be 12 in august.

Just before Christmas I actually had quite a bad fall when he decided to go vertical in the arena,he certainty isn't a plodder and when he does get excited he will pop in a few little bunny hops but never with the intentions of harming me so it was very unlike him :/
We had him scoped back in January and found grade 4 ulcers, the yard I am on is quite a big and has indoor stables so when any construction work is going on he can hear it but not see it so we presume that's what caused it and since he's so good natured he hasn't really shown any signs of pain until it's gotten so bad.He isn't on any feed as such so usually isn't prone to ulcers and this is the first time he's ever been scoped.
Anyways he's on week 5 of his omeprazole injections which should hopefully do the trick(we couldn't get the syringe in his mouth as it was too stressful for both me and him)and I'm due to start bringing him into work next week so hopefully he isn't a complete loony after 4 months off 😩

Oh my gosh he is sooo pretty! I wish I had a cob! Suddenly my Vanner, Mustang, Arab, Thoroughbred, even Shire don't seem so pretty! I love his mane and tail

One thing that helps with stomach ulcers is a small amount of alfalfa. The calcium helps their stomach feel better. Too much will give them a belly ache if they aren't used to it. Your horse is absolutely gorgeous! I would just love to have a gypsy, but I can't pay 10k or more for a horse that would pretty much just be a pet. Gypsies are the opposite type to what I breed/compete, so I don't have a good enough reason to pay that much for a new horse lol. They're expensive here. Their manes are just gorgeous though, and I love how he has a tiny bit of curliness going on in his tail!
