Prologue
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clouds are dark in thy sky, lightning striking down onto the open ocean waves that crash against a boat powering through the waves, hard waves that smack against the ship's haul and sides. It was a rough day to be a on ship that's supposed to sail on the open ocean like this.
A man in a yellow raincoat was trying to pull a palomino paint mare onto the ship's deck, the mare refusing to step aboard the ship during the thunderstorm. The mare knew better than to be on the ship itself, for fear of being overboard the ship itself, the mare can swim perfectly but its the crew that she's scared of being overboard the ship itself.
"Come on girl, you're backing up the line." The man muttered, he leaned his entire weight onto pulling this stubborn mare. She knew danger when she felt it in her spine all simple and easy.
The man was pulling and the mare refusing, until a few men decided to help the man push the mare onto the deck, and so the mare was forced to move as all seven men, carefully avoiding the rump and kicks in the back, and they managed to bring the mare onto the ship's deck.
The line that was waiting moved as the other six men went to grab the leads that are attached to the halters on the horses, from Thoroughbred's to Andalusians to Sport Horses and Ponies to Knabstruppers and other various breeds that they had to bring onto the ship just to sail.
The mare was brought down a few decks, until the man and the mare reached the metal stables that were reinforced to keep water out and keep horses from breaking out and trying to sink the ship by accident, the mare was uneased but she stayed calm for the man guiding her to her metal stall.
"I know it ain't much girl, but you'll be here with the others for a few weeks. We're sailing across continents, we all don't have the money nor the jobs to pay to stable you while we're away. So, we had sponsors help us build this ship ourselves." The man told the mare, guiding the big girl to her stall, the man patting her side as she calmly went into her stall. "We're in so much debt after that.."
The man laughed to himself before closing the sliding door, the metal stable was shaped into a two deck multi stable for the horses that are being stalled here by the other men and women bringing them, as they can't pay for a stable while they are away; it's expensive after all.
The palomino paint mare watched as the man left her alone in her stall, after taking off her halter and hanging it up next to her stall door, she looked around as best as she could in her stall before drinking some of the water that was put in there before the mare was stalled.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The palomino paint mare was resting up in her stall, before she heard noises and looked up to be watching men and women stall their horses into their respective places, the mare was curious who was who with the mysterious strange horses that she doesn't know.
The mare watched as a man and his stallion was stalled next to her on her left side, the mare looked at the bay Arabian stud through the metal window bars, the stallion watched as the man that brought him took off his halter, hung the halter next to his door, and then left.
The stallion looked around his stall before looking at the mare that was looking at him, the mare huffed then snorted and had turned her head away. Typical mares, the stallion began feeding from his full haynet that was hanging up in his stall.
All other horses have been stalled, their halters off and hung up next to their stall doors, and then the men and women walked off to let the horses adjust and get used to the new setting of being in a ship for once. A few of the horses seem to be used to being stalled in a ship, so they know to stay calm with the other horses not used to this.
The palomino paint mare looked up from chewing some hay in her haynet, looking on her right to see a dazzling Clyde mare being calm, quiet and peaceful as well, the paint mare made a noise of greeting before exhaling hot air from her nostrils and turning around to get comfortable on the plethora of straw bedding to be comfortable and that she can't feel the hard and cold metal that is everywhere and that it makes up the ship as well.
