As a vet tech, you do everything the vet does BUT 4 things: perform surgeries, prescribe meds, diagnose animals, and perform rabies vaccinations. OTHER than that,, vet techs DO it all. For a 2 year degree, you run the labs, the exams, monitor anesthesia, fill meds, etc |

09:26:08 Hummer| What I find ironic is if there is a shortage of vets, why are so many vets discouraging young people from becoming a vet? That happened to me. Multiple vets told me don't do it and ultimately made me give up pursuing that career. |

Plus the doctors had went to lunch so we couldn't do anything as a vet tech but give them vet wrap cause to stitch, I think legally I need a veterinarian present, but not sure on that one |
09:21:58 Hummer| @Helix, vets around here won't do that even if you are a client. Thankfully I found a vet who was willing to help my dog when he had an emergency and I quickly switched to them as my permanent vet. That was after calling 15 other vets though, no joke. |

If you weren't their client, you had to go to the emergency center which was a half an hour drive, but there was no guarantee they'd take the animals, if they are short staffed they won't take on more then they can handle |

09:14:15 #Vettechnician| Problem is, I live in a small town. There are 2 rescues here in town, and the other rescue can't seem to keep anyone to help them(they have been in trouble NUMEROUS times for using vet techs as veterinarians). I wouldn't work for them even if it was the last job in town. |

The PLBA scavenger hunt is finally here! I and members of the club have gone ahead and hidden 3 eggs, 8 ducks, and 3 geese amongst our barns and pastures. Your job will be to find them. When you find one, please send me (California Valley), a message with a link to the horse so I can confirm. IMPORTANT: You can only find ONE egg, duck, or goose. You cannot find multiple. Once a duck, goose, or egg has been found,it can not be found again. That means there will be a total of 14 winners. • • • • Prizes will depend on your tier. That being said, make sure you've sent in club dues to be eligible for the bigger prizes! OST Tier prizes will consist of a sven, ebs, ABLB and retired straws, WWW straws, and more. Tier 2 prizes will consist of a medallion, WW broods, ebs, PLBA stud straws, WW embryos, and more Tier 1 prizes will consist of a stained glass, W-WW broods, sexed embryos, and more. • • • • LOCATIONS You will need to search through the barns and pastures of the following stables to locate the ducks, geese, and eggs.
