Hi Everyone..., trying to get better at understanding how to better my horses and riders in shows. I am wondering about the "Schoolmaster?" How do one attain, or develop a "Schoolmaster?" thanks for any and all replies!

A schoolmaster is any level ten horse than cannot compete anymore. If you have horses that are in training, they will most likely eventually reach schoolmaster. The only thing they're really good at is for training riders, which you can do without a schoolmaster, so most people don't really keep them around as they just take up space that a showing horse (aka a horse earning money) could be using.

The other downside is that they are only Schoolmasters in whatever discipline they hit level 10, so unless you get hold of the rare bird that is the level 10 eventer or the owner switched a level 10 XC to J or vice-versa and got two level 10 disciplines you're basically only training SD riders.

I think they can be very useful. I don't train my riders the usual way. I train them only with my schoolmaster until they reach as close as possible to switching level, then I stop training them at all. It's a little tricky but I have some of the best riders in the game. I hire them as a junior rider, get them to the top of their level and performing all their life.

THANK YOU to those of you who answered and gave me a better understanding about the "Schoolmaster." Now I know it's something that is to either work towards, or possibly just ignore. I'll have to decide if it's something I feel would be worth my time and efforts. Thanks again!! I really appreciated your time👍🏻👍🏻
