I joined a few days ago and I would appreciate some opinions.
I've figured out how to register a brand and how to brand a horse, but I'm curious about when it is generally appropriate to brand a horse in this game. I use "appropriate" very loosely. I know there's nothing stopping me from branding every unbranded horse I get my hands on, but I wanna know how you do it.
For those of you that brand your horses, do you brand them all indiscriminately, or only under certain circumstances (e.g. only horses you bred)? Do you use one brand or multiple? How do you utilize multiple brands? Anything else I should know? Edited at December 1, 2017 04:22 PM by Red Mountain Farm

I personally only brand horses that I have bred, I currently only have one brand.
As far as I am aware you can only use one brand per horse and it cannot be changed. You can have multiple brands for different horses.

I usually brand horses right before I sell them! If it's a nice horse I want to be associated with for sure, but if it's one I just kinda picked up on a whim (Didn't do any of the breeding or training) I usually don't really want my brand connected to that horse.

On one of my other accounts I have a welsh pony project going where all of the members of the "breed" have to be able to trace every branch of their pedigree back to a wild PON caught in the mountains, so I brand the wilds, and periodically their pureblood decendants.
