This is not a bug, according to the genes of the stallion compared to the mare, that number is entirely possible.

Yes, it's a correct number. The number does not represent phenotypes (colors, patterns, etc.) but genotypes (different gene combinations regardless of expression). So something like Sbsb and SbSb are both the same phenotype (both horses are sabino), but a different genotype.
