Why exactly is there a game forecast and does it have any significance?

It's useful for role playing reasons, but more importantly, it has impact on crops and trail rides. If it rains, hay pastures/crop fields will grow and crop fields won't need watering. If the weather is severe enough, trail rides will be canceled.
