yeah, it would be weaker there even if Malik was up week 7 for it, but the medallion would help both their weaker traits

Diamante', thanks so much for the good advice! I appreciate it!

Bijoux, that sounds like a plan to me. But how do you transfer upgrades to other players, how does it work?

I have lots of "low-rated" horses I keep because they are pretty and useful for show. They do fairly well, actually. I have several PPPs that do nicely in all disciplines, so I can show them in first one, then another, then sometimes even the third as they level up and keep them showing almost all the time. The E's train up faster, but that sometimes mean they level out of the money faster and have to wait to show again.
I've been playing with the single discipline breeding idea, myself. I think it might be very rewarding to have a dressage line, a CC line and a jumping line that you at least see progress with, then perhaps you'll stumble across a good match to get 2 E's, then another to start having EEE pop up now and then.

Single discipline is a lot easier. I bought one mare in the Adams junior auction a few months ago. Her name is Midnight Mirage. She is a PEE Anglo Arabian. She's been on the Jumping LB for AA the last 2 months and probably going to be again this month. All but one of her foals have an E in jumping. The one that doesn't was by a sucky EEE stud. I'm hoping for another PEE out of her tomorrow. My favorite foal of hers is named ZaMirage and I hope to get a good foal from her. She is PEE and had an SEE foal, so it could have gone worse.
Here is Mirage. You can see her daughter by checking her breeding history and clicking on ZaMirage

Nightfall,
I have been playing about a year and have been able to bred a few horses that made the All breed leader board.
You need to decide what your breeding goals are-first of all. I breed exclusively for ratings in all discipline. Some people breed just for color and other for a single discipline like let's say Dressage.
Unless, you are breeding only for color I would say getting a premium account should be one of your first goals. Premium allows you unlimited breed approvals and the ability to use straws. Indispensable parts of the game if you are breeding for rating in my opinion.
I do not keep any horses that are lower than a P ever. I mainly just breed EEE mares to outside ABLB studs at this point in my program. I do not spend money on capturing wild horses either. The odds are against you on capturing a horse that is suitable for your breeding program.
The top horses get better every RO/year. It is pretty much impossible to breed up your own stock to catch them when they are also improving.
Under member guides, there are excellent guides on how to breed and show along with other aspects of the game. Please read those, they will help a lot. Establish a source of ebs(money) by getting decent show horses-read Eurynome's showing guide for advice. After you have some income, buy a good mare at least a EE combo and bred her to a LB stallion. Show a lot of horses and breed a few good mares. That is my advice and learn from the longtime players who have been successful by reading the member guides and blogs. I am learning too.

Thanks for all the good advice and tips, everyone! I'm definitely taking everything into consideration and have definitely been doing a whole lot of reading. I'm starting to feel like I need to get a degree in HE to understand it all. lol I'm definitely getting a premium account, probably today after I get home from running the countless errands I have to get done today. I'm looking forward to being able to rate my horses and toss, or geld, the ones that aren't all that great, which I'm sure will be most of them. My hunt for good quality wild horses will begin today as well. I'm also considering buying some good user bred horses, too. For now, since I am so new and don't know much yet, I think I'll stick to building up a small herd that's good in only one discipline to start. I'm also very interested in horses with rare or uncommon coats, colors and patterns. It's a start and I'm really looking forward to getting on it! :)

I really appreciate all of you and can't thank you enough for your kindness and help!
