Hey all! I just wanted to document the progression of my orphaned kitten here. I'm going to start off with a short summary of how I got her and tell a little bit about her. * Day 1 - 5/10/2022 Yesterday around 5pm I was working from home in my office. All the sudden my dad comes in and hands me the tiniest baby kitten. Telling me that he had found her in the middle of a busy road on his way home. He stopped traffic with his huge truck and saved her life! Then knowing how much of an animal person I am brought her home to me. I have had some expereince "rasing" kittens, but always with the help of a momma cat. This one was orphaned so I basically had to become her dad. As soon as I got her I set her up a space in the bathroom with warm blankets and a bed. Soon after I drove into town to the pet store becuase I had no supplies on hand. I grabbed all the essentails, wet kitten food, kitten formula, toys, litter box etc. I then fed her a mix of the kitten food and formula and water. She was so so hungry! When I pick her up I can feel the poor baby's bones under her fur. After that she quickly warmed up to me and began to see me as her caregiver. Crying when she wanted to eat and when she wanted me to hold her. She spends most of her time napping and waking up to eat. She's just now figuring out how to play a little! I assume she is around 4-5 weeks old and I've named her Amelia. * Day 2 - 5/11/2022 Today I woke up around 7am to feed the little baby and she ate like a champ. After that I cleaned her all up and let her get some rest. After her nap I decided to spend some bonding time with her. I had noticed that she has not gone to the bathroom since I've gotten her. Not gonna lie I started freaking out a bit, anxitey getting the best of me. Did some google searching and tried stimulating her to go with a warm wet cloth. I tried several times over the course of a few hours with no luck. I then called the vet to make an appointment for tommorow thinking there was something wrong. Not knowing how I was going to get off work on such short notice. But for the sake of my kitty I was going to make it happen. In one last effort to get her to go I allowed her to wander around my home office while I worked. Yeah I know it sounds gross to let her go in my office, but I didn't mind having to clean it up. I was allowing her to walk around to get those bowels moving. Sure enough it worked she finally went potty! I was so happy I yelled to my dad across the house "THE KITTEN MADE A POOP!!" XD I told her good job and all that stuff. First time I've ever cleaned up shit with such excitement. So I was then able to reschedule the vet appointment for next week at a later time. She is now sleeping soundly in my lap. That's all I have for today! Stay tuned for her first vet visit and important milestones in her little kitten life. I will try and update daily <3

Aww! I have 2 curent rescue kittens, their mother was a feral who had them under my shed, my dogs scared her off, she took the runt kitten, whom i named mouse (i know my mom pointed out that naming a cat mouse is a little insulting but he looked like one) then there was 2 others a boy and a girl, the girl is white and the boy is a brown tabby, the boy is named shed and the girl Nova. it was a little hard at first apperently there was a kitten formula shortage but they are doing much better
