I recently got around 25 more shrimp, 6 snails, and a few plants in the mail. I just threw the plants and 3 snails in my 5g (everything is being acclimated of course) and put all of the shrimp and 3 other snails into my 10g. I needed to add some new blood into my shrimp lines.

EDIT: I also threw a sponge filter in with the shrimp before I went on vacation this week. Hoping it helps keep everything in check. Edited at July 2, 2019 08:36 PM by Golden Pony Estates

I'm officially bummed out, my large pleco passed away just the other day at around 5 years. Not sure why. I'm thinking it's because my tank is severely overstocked and the conditions for were just weren't quite right.

So, after buying a new fluval cannister filter for my aquarium, it refused to seal. Making it unusable. And my hair was on fire.
It was my 3rd fluval and they are impossible to seal. So I tried to research another brand, but seems like all the brands have sealing problems.
So I said fuck that and bought a cheap ass 20 dollar zacro hob filter.
Well, I just installed it easy as pie. And that thing is filtering like a champ. And its quiet also.
It makes a waterfall and my angelfish are playing in the bubbles.
Sometimes the most expensive thing isnt the best.
20 buck hob filter > 170 cannister filter.
I will see how this goes, but so far I'm super pleased with it.

That's good! I don't know if it's the greatest brand, but I basically buy everything from TopFin. I have a 10-20 gal. filter from TopFin on my 10 gal. tank, and it works like an absolute charm!

Also, side note....
This filter has a skimmer.
I never knew what a skimmer was other than some fancy thing marine tanks have. It was all mystical to me.
Only I learned its just an intake at the water surface to grab the surface oil and whatever.
So, marine tanks....a little less scary to me. Maybe someday I will have one. If I move to a bigger house.
