Very true! You can simply use the ratio 1 cup of sugar to 4 cups of water. If you do feed hummingbirds make sure you frequently clean your feeder because it can grow mold which can kill hummingbirds. The hotter the environment the more frequently you need to clean it. I clean my feeder every 4 days during the summer even though it may still have plenty of nectar in it.

Another thing about humming birds...... don't use the red dyed humming bird feeder stuff. The dye is actually toxic adn will cause the tounge of the humming bird to swell. It's best to make your own sugar water for them.

I already mentioned that owls can rotate their necks 270 degrees, but today I learned that a blood-pooling system collects blood to power their brains and eyes when neck movement cuts off circulation.

Austraila (Sorry if I misspelled it) went to war with Emus. The Emus won lol.

Introducing the Common Potoo... a nocturnal bird with large yellow eyes and an even bigger mouth native to Central and South America.

I don't have any fun facts about this bird, just fun photos.

I had to look this up and this is actually a really funny story. For anyone else who is interested...

In 1923 an estimated 20,000 emus migrated to Western Australia to take advantage of the newly cultivated farmland. Of course this made the farmers upset because the emus were destroying their crops. To combat this problem the Minister of Defense dispensed the military to the region with machine guns. The soldiers open fired on the emus with the hopes of dispersing them from the area. Although a number of birds were killed their numbers still persisted and the crops continued to be destroyed.

Ostritches have the largest eyes of any land mammal. That's right, their eyes are even bigger than that of an elephant. They are approximately the size of a billiard ball and are bigger than their brains.

In a process known as "anting" birds will either rub ants on themselves or lay down on anthills to allow the ants to crawl all over them. Scientists aren't sure what the purpose of this ritual is, but many believe the ants release an acid like substance that can remove parasites and lice.
