Creeping on this thread so I can dump my axolotl tank progress in here when I start building it. ... Still want a freshwater community but nooo, the boyfriend is dead-set on his water Pokemons.

Fish tanks are irritating. Very much so. I was just going to do my daily stare down for the bristle worms, fish, and other little critters in my tank, then I realize there's tons of cyanobacteria. Growing all over again. After I spent a week treating it naturally. It pissed me off big time. I get no other algae type stuff, or at least I didn't when I first got my saltwater. Recently I got another "tank" that hangs off the edge to "grow" bristle worms and other helpful critters (Who will feed my fish, but still needs another light and more plant type stuff). So without my actual filters, the tank on the back keeps the flow, along with powerheads. But the dang tank on the back isn't taking in the water, nor putting it back in. Fun times.

Ugh. I bought these fish for my tank on impulse. Got them home and looked up info on them. They are totally gonna eat my plants and I'm gonna have to get rid of them.

So we're getting Vampire Crabs in at work today, and I wish I was there lol I picked up a 29 gallon on Friday night that I'm planning on turning into a vivarium for some.
In case you haven't seen them before, here are some links http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/two-new-vampire-crabs-traced-back-java-indonesia/ - The Orchid Crab, Geosesarma Dennerle https://www.livescience.com/50183-vampire-crabs-origins-java.html - The Devil Crab, Geosesarma Hagen There's also the Disco Vampire and Blue Dart Crabs, which belong to the same genus
A bit of background on these guys: They were discovered by a biologist in the aquarium trade, but were not listed as a described species. Over the course a few years they were able to trace back the supply chain to find their natural habitat. As of now, they've been able to describe more than 40 members of the genus Geosesarma, many of which are brightly colored.
Once I get my vivarium setup (I've been holding off as a reward for after exams this week) I'll post some photos, as well as of my 65 gallon :)

I have a freshwater tank with 2 albino corydoras catfish and 1 female Dalmatian molly. I also have an Anubias that needs desperate help - stupid me got a pH stabiliser that shouldn't be used with plants (stops growth, I believe). I love my little guys so much, even if they eat like pigs.
I have also had balloon mollies (cute things with massive bellies), guppies (too inbred and get sick really easily), native guppies (survive much better) and heaps of snails and a lobby or two.
I hope to get a siamese fighting fish in the future, when I have a spare tank. I love the colours and forms they come in, so I hope they're not too fragile (like guppies are).
Love hearing about everyone else's tanks and gorgeous fish!

Whoops. Might have bought myself a small tank. It's just a 3 gallon, but it has an electric pump to it, which I like. No fish, yet. Need to let it cycle and what have you. I'll probably snag some ghost shrimp sometime next week, but it depends on my schedule.
I want to eventually get a betta, but that likely won't happen until late July due to having to go on a 2 week "vacation" that's school related. I don't really trust any of the long lasting feeding tablets to not entirely gunk up the tank.

Well, its about time I join the aquarium squad of HEE. Today, I purchased my first fish and tank. Its a 7 litre tank with heater and filter, and Ive stocked it with two plastic plants (because its a miracle my succulents are still alive...) and a gorgeous red betta boy. I am thinking about grabbing some neon tetras to keep him company, but that will be put on the backburner whilst I save up some money again...
Also brought a teal, aqua and black betta, as my homeroom at school also doubles as a marine studies room, and there was a spare tank that myself and our homeroom teacher has decided to stock with some fish and live plants. The plan is to later purchase a female, and breed some bettas which we can sell to the other marine studies school in our area.
Will post a picture of both setups later, if I can remember lol.
