This is on my TBR! I only have the first book, but I have so many others on my shelves that I am trying to get through those before I buy the whole series. I've heard its better than ACOTAR! Dragoness said: Oakie Equine said: A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas Reaction: I was not excited to read this book, because I was not a fan of Nesta in the other books and found her "woe-is-me" act very annoying. I love Cassian, but prefer Azriel and selfishly want a book from him perspective. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book had a good plot that linked the other books in the series and was more than just spicy scenes, though there were plenty of those. I adore the way SJM writes and found a new understanding for Nesta. I am obsessed with the inclusion of the valkyries and am excited for the next book! Emerie and Gwyn need more story time! Rating: 4/5
You already mentioned the ACOTAR and the Crescent City (which I haven't gotten a chance to read yet) books by Maas, so I really think I need to mention Throne Of Glass. The books are really good, and the series has been finished (I think). Just make sure to keep the tissues handy!

Small Favors by Erin Craig Reaction: I have such mixed emotions about this book. I really enjoyed reading it once I got into it, but I had such "meh" feelings once I finished it. The mystery/thriller vibe was so refreshing, but I had a hard time following the plot. Not that it wasn't good or lacking, my brain was just jumping to too many conclusions and then I would miss the point of something. Definitely a good casual read, but not something I would pick up again. I am obsessed with bees and love that element of the book though. Rating: 3.5/5

(subscribing to this) I've seen you mention ACOTAR by sjm? Have you read ToG by her by any chance? I'd love to hear you thoughts! I personally prefer that one over ACOTAR. I'll be reading Lore in a few days, saw that you did a review a few posts back. Pretty excited!

I have not read ToG yet! It is on my TBR but that list is so long that I'm trying to get through more before I commit to a series. So many people have said that it is better than ACOTAR and that makes me very excited because I love ACOTAR! Lore is one of my top favorite reads! Its captivating and so well written! A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair Reaction: I love Greek mythology, especially anything revolving around Persephone and Hades. This book has a beautiful modern take on their love story. It has major 50 Shades of Grey vibes with the journalist female and the rich, kinky male. That was my biggest issue with the book was that it seemed like the plot line was super similar to those of other romances. Nevertheless, this book was still writing beautifully and had its own original ideas and elements that made it great. I'm currently reading the second book in the trilogy. Rating: 4/5

A Touch of Ruin by Scarlett St. Clair Reaction: The second book in the trilogy is definitely a filler book to build the conflict that arises at the end and continues into book 3. I enjoyed this book for the sake of the relationship development between Hades and Persephone, but I also love the inclusion of Apollo and going deeper into his issues. The conflict of this book for Persephone and Lex is heart breaking, but at the same time beautiful. Grief is a big theme in this book and some parts will have you in tears. Rating: 4/5 I'm a teacher and it is the last week of school so I haven't read much lately. Hopefully with summer break in just a few days, I can get more books read and marked off my TBR.

A Touch of Malice by Scarlett St. Clair Reaction: I DNFed this book. There wasn't necessarily anything wrong with it, I just had no motivation to read it. I was actually really excited too because it was going to focus on the struggle between Persephone and her mother, Demeter. I may try to go back and read it later on. Rating: DNF
