Gunnya | Lead Stallion | Band A | M: Cinder, Thistle, Amira - Gunnya snorted, his breath turning to steam in the rain. Making it look like he was pretty much blowing fire. The lead stallion paced back and fourth infront of the treeline, unsure. Gunnya turned, his neck bent looking towards his herd, he frowned as he realised the mares were spooky about something. Gunnya pressed his ears flat against his skull and bared his teeth, was it a male? Gunnya charged down the muddy slope, his feet slipping but he didn't lose balence or momentum. The lead stallion shot across the small bowl the herd was grazing in, his legs powering him back up the other slope. He managed to get to the top of the bowl, mud clinging to his coat. Gunnya snorted again, hot steam blowing from his nostrils. Gunnya turned to face his probable opponent, his feet slowing as he realised infront of him stood a very thin mare. Brown tobiano with badger face. Gunnya tilted his face, she reminded him of his father, who too had badger face, save he was red like Gunnya himself. "Hello... my name is Gunnya" he said, his form softening, this mare wasn't a threat, clearly. Gunnya took a small step forward, wondering how the mare would react, he stretched out his nose and nickered back softly. His eyes darting to his herd mares below, he was worried that this was the perfect moment for a stallion to take his mares, he must stay on alert. Edited at August 26, 2024 03:47 PM by Ponies heaven

_______________ Amira ! Band A Amira looked at the mare who stared at her, she liked the mares coat, she lowered her head when the mare grew skittish trying to she she was not a threat, The brown paint mare felt like fleeing. The herd had seen her and so far didn't seem interested in letting her too close. But yet she still stood there, her ears flicking forward listening to the band of mares, she nickered to them again in a attempt to graze with them, safely. She backed up a step when the lead stallion approached her in a quick pace, her ears bending back and taking a step back. When he changed his stance Amira let her ears go forward in respect, she carefully stretched her neck and sniffed at the stallion "Hello, I'm Amira. Nice to meet you... May i stick around the herd please?" The skittish mare asked glancing at the herd once more

Gunnya | Lead stallion | Band A | M: Amira, herd mares, Cinder - Gunnya breathed deeply, slightly confused, "just hang around the herd? You don't want to join?" He said, his hooves cutting into the mud below him because of his weight. The mud and rain making him slightly heavier. A slight advantage in battle. Gunnya stepped forward again, sniffing at the new mares muzzle, then neck, then shoulder. Hoping to get to know this mare a little better. As she was currently a mystery to him. A slightly pleasant one. "So your name is Amira, hm?" He said, his ears flicking back and fourth. "Amira, why are you so thin?" He asked, curiosity filled him like a barrel of water, what was this mare doing on her own and half-starved? Was her last lead stallion unfair? Or inexperienced? Or was she alone from the start? Gunnya had heard of mares that sometimes decide to foal alone, but he had never actually imagined how much it impacted the foal! "You weren't born away from a herd... were you?" He said, backing up and flicking his ears patiently, he then shook his head, it dosent matter, if she was to join his herd, then he needed to forget her past and focus on their future. "Nevermind, my bad, if you wish to graze with my herd, feel free, but we will be leaving in the next ten to fifteen minutes" he said, glancing back at the herd behind him, affection and pride following through him.

________ Amira ! Band A The mare tilted her head slightly at Gunnya's question, but soon understood and shook her head "Oops... That's not how i'm supposed to ask huh. Well if it's okay with you, i'd like to join your band. You all seem... Nice" She said, at first she felt strange when the stallion moved closer to sniff her, taking a small step back. But looked at the other mares, they seemed content so she looked at Gunnya again and moved closer allowing him to gather her sent as she gathered his, she could sense good intentions with the stallion. Amira lowered her head and looked back at the field "No, i was born in a band... But it was taken over by a bachelor stallion a while ago and i wasn't too fond of him so i left. I've been too busy staying alert for danger that i haven't had much time to eat" Amira explained with a embarrassed chuckle. She sniffed his back a little then started to walk down to the band of mares "Yes please, i'd like to graze before you move the herd" She said softly, a gentle smile falling apon her badger face at the kindness he shown. She lowered her head and grazed on the edge of the herd flicking the flies with her tail

Gunnya | Lead stallion | Band A | M: Amira, Herd mares - Gunnya felt pride swell in his chest, another mare to add to his herd. Another mare to protect. But he also felt some slight sorrow, this mare needed some fare grazing grounds before she could carry a foal of his. Gunnya nickered and followed Amira down the slope, walking towards his herd. He walked slightly behind her, his tail swishing and his ears flicking back and fourth. Alert. The lead stallion let out a deep huff as he looked over his six mares, he turned, flicking his ears again. The wind howling against his side. "Meet Amira, she's a new mare in the herd" he said, swishing his tail, trying to gesture to the badger faced brown tobiano mare. Gunnya looked over at Cinder, "Cinder, do you mind helping her meet everyone? I need to check around and find the best way through the trees without being spotted, don't want any trouble" he said, snorting again and turning away from his mares, his tail swinging as he charged back up the slope, ears pricked and his head moving back and fourth for the best path. Gunnya let out a gruff nicker that sounded like a growl, a deep warning to whatever creatures roamed the bush around him, even though he knew his largest enemy was man and stallions.

__________ Amira ! Band A Amira raised her head from the damp wet grass when Gunnya introduced her to the herd, her brown orbs scanning each of the 5 mares in front of her she lowered her head in submittion to the other ladies then shot a smile to Cinder "Hello Cinder, Like he said, i'm Amira. It's lovely to meet you!" She said cheerily edging closer to the mares and stretching out her neck to sniff their muzzles. She watched Gunnya lope up the hill and flattened her ears at the thought of more loose stallions that may be linguring on the land in which they stood, Amira glanced at Cinder "Is this... Some other Band's territory?" She asked feeling uneasy, she pranced around the herd of mares, ears perked in high alert. Ultimately the paint coated mare calmed down when there weren't any sudden attacks or challenges, she shook her mane then continued to graze

Thistle | mare | 4 | red roan with a white snip | Band A | Thistle watched on as Gunnya returned and went to greet the stranger mare. He'd arrived back at the herd quite stirred up...her attention remained on him and the new mare through their whole interaction. Everything seemed alright. Though when the newcomer approached and her malnourishment became more obvious Thistle felt a pang of worry. Her nostrils flared as she made her way closer to greet her, nodding to Gunnya as she passed his familiar presence and moved on to the obscurity of a new mare. She stretched on her neck, tentatively examining the mare "How long have you been by yourself?" . She stepped closer when the situation calmed down, no longer relying on her outstretched neck for contact. This herd was a solid one...and Thistle felt very connected to it, this included fresh members. If the new mare was open to friendliness Thistle would gladly welcome her and help see to the fact that she picked up some healthy weight. "Amira, was it? You can call me Thistle" She finally introduced herself, keeping her own head raised on watch. She couldn't imagine the nerves of trying to eat by yourself after your herd had been turned upside down by a new stallion. It wasn't always that way - a new lead coming in to power - but it wasn't uncommon for new lead stallions to uproot the old order of things and have some chaos following that before everyone got used to it. . The sun was getting bolder now as it lifted higher, above dawn. The rain would cease and they'd all be able to bake dry, already the dew that had settled over this bowl was evaporating. Out of all the seasons, this was Thistle's favourite. She enjoyed the fresh new growth and the easy temperatures.

Navi - spicey grulla - mare - band A - W/ herd When the grulla mare saw the new mare her ears immediately pinned back, but she quickly caught it before Gunya and the new mare noticed, of course she would absolutely terrify the mare later but she couldn't just do it with Gunya around. That's grumpy mare 101. After a minute of analyzing every part of the mare and majorly judging her, Navi walked over to Gunya, walking towards him so shane was shoulder to shoulder with him. The height difference from her 14.3 hh and his 17 hh making Navi look almost like a pony. "Hey Gunya?" she said, pulling off her 'talking to the stallion' sweet and very king sounding voice, one the mares never heard on her when she wasn't talking to Gunya. "Where'd the new mare come from? She seems like she'd come from a whole different band. How do you know she's not here to sabotage us?" The mare finished, giving Gunya her something feels off eyes.

_______ Amira | Band A The brown tobiano mare stopped grazing and lifted her head to see a red roan mare approaching her, one ear stuck forward while the other ear moved back to listen, but eventually both ears perked completely forward as the mare got closer and stretched her neck, looks like she was examining Amira's slightly thinner frame. At the mare's (Thistle) question Amira looked down "I've been on my own for..." The mare tried to think, she'd lost count of how many days she spent trying to manage on her own "A few months I think." She finally gave a answer "A few months of trying to eat while being on high alert... Yeah not the best combo huh?" Amira asked, she looked at Thistle again "I feel like if I didn't find your herd, i probably wouldn't survive on my own for much longer..." Amira's voice turned shaky at her own words. She shivered her spine and glanced at Thistle with a smile as she introduced herself "Yes, my name's Amira, it's nice to meet you, you seem so friendly! And I like your name it's pretty!" The mare spoke in a soft tone and shared a smile

Gunnya | Lead stallion | Band A | M: Navi, Amira, herd mares - Gunnya looked down at Navi, the Grulla mare in his herd. His ears twitched as he listened to her before turning slightly and sneaking a look at Amira. Gunnya looked back at Navi, "I don't think there's much to sabotage right now, I don't yet have a territory or a title right now" he said, flicking his ears, "but you might be right, keep your sights on her for me, okay?" He said, nuzzling Navis neck before he turned away from the Grulla mare, his nostrils widening to try and get the best scents available in the Australian bush. "Anyway, if she does lead any other stallion here, she would be leading him to his death" he said, looking back at Navi with a angry glint in his eyes. Gunnya moved his attention back to the path infront of him. Gunnya sniffed at the dirt, there were tracks but they were old, and decent enough to travel on. The trees would be enough to hold off any incoming stallions or men. Gunnya turned away from the trees, his tail high and his head tucked in with a sturdy look. The lead stallion made his way back to the basin and approached his mares. "Time to go, I plan on going to Dargo high plains" he said, flicking his ears at the mares, his gaze catching on Amira, suspicion filled him. Gunnya shook his head, Amira was his now, no past stallions would matter, even if Navi was right.
