They mentioned in the post that they're breeding SD XC and scope isn't a stat relevant to XC. The only stats that matter for XC are heart, speed and strength, and so they can pretty much ignore any other stats.

Personally I'd avoid both pairings for your first mare. In pair 1 both your mare and the stallion appear to be weak in speed, and you want to avoid overlapping weaknesses. In pair 2 the stallion is training in Jumping and thus you can't really gauge his strength stat accurately which is important to XC.

For your first mare something like this would likely do better. Tracking your mare's training is also a good idea to help out with matching stats.

As for your other 2 matches, they can't really be judged as your mares aren't trained enough to see their strengths/weaknesses. Osprey has only had 1 training session, and Take Zero only appears to be strong in Speed which doesn't match with the stud either. She'd be more likely to do better with a pair like this, because her tracked training shows that she's strong in speed and not the other 2 stats which the stud is strong in.
