Also, I want to be sure your expectations fall in line with how the Game works.

A top horse x a top horse does not mean you should automatically get a top foal.

It doesn't work that way in real life, nor here. A top horse x a top horse gives you a CHANCE at a top foal. This is where random factor comes in. It means the stats can swing positive or negative from the result of the cross. So, mostly I have to adjust the random factor until you have enough positive results to be happy.

Why can't it just be mare stats and stallion stats without random factor? The game would be absolutely flooded with WWWs and they would be worthless. If you breed one, it needs to be worth something. Also, WWW were intended to be way more rare than they currently are. You can go back and read the news post from the day they were introduced. Also, breeding top horses together in real life can give nice foals, but it also gives a lot of duds. Nothing is guaranteed.

I fully agree with you, eve.
A guaranteed result is honestly not what this should be about.
People like the intrigue and like the expectation to see how good or bad your foal is.
As it's said, losing is also part of the game. We should have good months and also bad ones.

I'm just about done breeding so I'll say it was par for the course for me (no WWWs across any of my accounts) but a definite uptick in EEP combos and EEEs.

Did a second round of (mostly) non itemed breeding today with WW+ mares and it was honestly, fun. I got 1 WWW colt here and 1 WWW on my RID account, I'm sure they are RF gifts, but it's stil fun to "chance" breed them.
And all the other in between breedings ranged from PEP (EEExW+) to EEE so I'm pretty intrigued to see how it all ends up settling.

I also thought it was a rough year and have been slowly breeding my horses to see what other people were experiencing. Much lower ratings on my matches than I was expecting.

I do agree that it has to be rare to get WWW's though. I played this game a million years ago and just started back up in November and I have already noticed the value of some of the ratings/breeds have gone down since then.

The S's with WWW x WWW ratings suck, but Eve's recent post made me think -in real life you don't get great foals just because the parents are great. I'm thinking how many times you lose a foal in real life and sometimes you lose mom too. It's crushing, but it's reality. I'm glad the game is not that realistic!!! As much as I dislike the S's or PPP's from well rated horses, we can think of it as the foal having a deformity, an injury, getting stepped on by mom, etc. My personal horse was stepped on by mom as a baby and has deformed/sore ribs that make competing challenging at times. Maybe she could have been an EEE horse, but she's really a PPE horse because of that injury.

I understand that WWWs can't run rampant, otherwise causing a degrade to their value. I do.
.
I think it's also good to remember that even when a WWW pops out, there's every chance already that the WWW is bad. Sometimes they're just... I really have no other words, they can be bad. They show bad and they produce bad, they don't end up on the LBs, they don't have colour... Sometimes all at once... The WC rating swings so wildly around both in value and capabilities.
.
And I don't find that to be bad so don't take it as me complaining, by any means. I just think the range of good vs. bad WC alongside the problems even getting WC is what's igniting so much frustration. If that makes sense? Both of these coins have so much gamble to them and it rarely pays off, even with hard work and time.

SD breeder chiming in! This year's report:
W/E/P: 1
E/E/E: 2
E/E/P: 1
W/S/A: 5
W/A/A: 1
W/S/Sub: 3
E/S/A: 21
E/S/Sub: 6
E/A/A: 11
W/A/Sub: 14
E/A/Sub: 27
W/Sub/Sub: 27
E/Sub/Sub: 23
I'm quite content with my results.
I get bad Ws and good Ws, and it's exciting to track their performance and learn along the way. No two foals are the same, as it should be.
Also, dragging SD RID out of the dumpster is fun.

Yesterday we had more WWW born this month three days in than all of last month combined.

Oh gosh. Well, I don't believe that is intended, either. That, too, is pretty gosh dang yucky!
.
Had you edited the first of this month in any way from last month before it happened? Specifically before these following couple of days when you decreased the number of "bad" chances.
.
I think what triggered the frustration was the sheer number of EEEs and EEWs just suddenly popping up from proven matches. It wasn't just a stable or two having a bad time, it felt like a very large grouping of people. More than usual, type deal.
.
It's a tough balance.
I think our roadblock here is that basically all stallions below a certain point on the LB get 100% ignored. Deemed, "useless" even when, according to the game, a WWE should also be pretty enticing if it's got nice colours, right?
.
So as soon as someone uses a sven on a match they've been REALLY anticipating, super excited for, cannot wait, they sven it and work hard ALL month to earn a million EBs, and it ends up an EWW colt, it's an immediate feeling of complete frustration. Except for showing, that colt is going to earn them nothing because the vast majority of the game absolutely will ignore him. So people WANT and work very hard to achieve WWWs so they MAYBE have a shot at being valuable. Although, if it trains poorly, it... Still gets ignored.
.
The game has a struggle with supposedly good horses being ignored. I think that's where the annoyance is stemming from. If more horses had value even not as WWW, things would go more smoothly... And fewer specific stables would constantly be getting 200k per breeding while others can barely get 5k per breeding.
I think we then circle back to the three breedings a month rumour.

All of my WWWxWWW or WWWxEWW breedings resulted in EEEs this month.

I bred 1 WEW colt.

My first top priority match resulted in an EEP. I gave her second embryo out for brood- they used the same stud with no items and got a WWW. Maybe I just had bad luck this year. I cri. ;^;

Used the Abbadon straw I was saving forever for #3 PONLB mare that matched him beautifully (+sven). EWE. Rest of my nice matches were same rating or lower yet. This was on RO.
.
I get both sides to what is being discussed here. It should be difficult, it's just really disappointing sometimes. I tried my best with that Abbadon match so I don't have any regrets, just a bit bummed. I've played this game for so long I'm kind of braced for the worst. And super excited when something nice does pop up.
.
This is more of a side topic:
I do want to touch on a point that Versa made- it does suck that lower ABLB horses have next to no breeding value. This game is focused a lot on matching so a good match should (and I assume does) have a bit better shot at a good horse even if they aren't the tippy top on the ABLB. Solution? Either add new training attributes to increase the amount of match combos or work on getting way more variety of breeds on the ABLBs. Which is so hard lol. Anyway just thoughts. Ill enjoy the game either way.
