I'm not very good at genetics so just wondering if she will consistently produce leopard foals.

The genes for leopard are Lplp PATN-1 - so, so long as a foal has at least one PTN-1 and *only* one Lp (ie heterozygous), you'll get leopard. :3

If you wanted absolute consistent leopard foals therefore, you would need a fewspot or snowcap (ie LpLp) who is homozygous for PATN-1 - then every cross with an Lplp (regardless of whether they have PATN-1) would result in a leopard.

Alternatively, you could get a guaranteed leopard through a cross between a LpLp horse with no PATN-1, and a PATN-1PATN-1 horse with no lp.

Your mare has a 50% chance of passing a Lp gene, and a 50% chance of passing on a PATN-1 gene. I won't put any maths here as I'm on a train, but the long and short of it would be it depends on the chosen stud, and it would be down to chance as to whether she gives you a leopard foal. I'm pretty certain it isn't a guarantee.

She is lovely though; huge congrats! <3 Looking forwards to seeing her on the ABLB in a few years. ^.^

Thank you, I'm proud of her training. Her mom retires next month so I'm really hoping this girl or/and one or more of her sisters hit the ABLB so my fox line stays on the ABLB. They have been my strongest SH to date starting with Spirit Fox.

Spirit Fox was a leopard too so I have really high hopes for this girl. I'd love the added color, but aside from her farther I don't think there are very many strong color ABLB boys to match her too. Oh well whatever I get I just hope it's strong :)
