I'm sorry, but rule number one of girl code is you don't date your "best friend's" ex. You're in the wrong here, but it sounds like the friendship isn't worth salvaging. I'd block her, stop talking to the guy, and learn from this.

It's not insane for her to believe him when you were gone for so long, she already felt jealous, and you confirmed that by telling her you liked him. Like puck said, you're in the wrong and you should just learn what you can from this experience and move on.
