My boyfriend's cat that he's owned for 5 years went missing. She was last seen a few blocks over from his house but we went looking yesterday with cat treats and we didn't see her anywhere. I think she went looking for him (his mom kicked him out of the house, he lives with me now and I can't have cats around, long story) and couldn't find him so she went too far and got lost. We've got posters printed with a picture of her and his contact information + a description of her markings so hopefully someone can catch her. She's friendly and there've been a few people who've had her come right up to them but didn't think to pick her up. She's overweight and we have had some bold coyotes come around town lately. I'm worried about her. I'll update if we find her or if something else happens.

Update: we got her back! Someone called us last night and said that they saw her on their doorbell cam. She came up to us when we shook some treats for her. No injuries on her. We got her a collar and put an airtag on it.

So glad you found him! It always makes me sad when people loose their cats, I don't know what I'd do without my girl, I'd hate to think how those who loose their cats feel.

That's great! A few years ago, I had a ginger cat that was lost due to a serious hurricane. Everyone kept saying she was most likely dead, but deep down inside I just could not believe that. I looked around outside everyday for her. I kept thinking we'll come home and there she'll be waiting on the doorstep. One night my boyfriend went outside to fuel up the generator and heard a cat. He said he didn't even recognise that it was her at first, as she had lost a lot of weight. She was bones, and the fur on her face had turned grey. It was 53 days later. She was weary for a couple weeks, but slowly restored to her former plump glory. Edited at August 30, 2024 10:39 PM by Riverchase Castle

Some years ago one of our cats went missing, we never found her sadly, but few months ago I ran into an account on instagram and it was full of her pictures, I contacted them and they said they had got her from rescue animal center (no idea if this is the word(s) I was looking for, but you know what I mean) we were so relieved, we thought that a fox had eaten her, 'cause the day she went missing we saw a silver fox at our stable. - On Thursday another of our cats went missing, she was gone for 41 hours and we were sure we would never see her again, 'cause, well, here is a lot of foxes, lynxes, wolves, bears...around midight when we were still looking for her with my sister she ran toward us and came to my lap, then we went back home pretty tired
