Sooo.. It's been 2 years now that i began working with my pony. And finally we reached a point where i can start working on riding him. I'm so proud of my boy.
About us: Marwell is a 24 year old gelding, fully named Marwell Viking (Welsh Cob D) out of Nebo Brenin. He's been a breeding stud until he turned 18, then got gelded and sold to several people before he ended up with his last owner. I met him about two years ago when his owner was looking for help, as she had no experiences with horses and bought him for a few bucks as a beginners horse, but he turned out to be quite the butt. He had serious trust issues, was scared of everyone and everything but we kinda clicked. So since then.. He's been mine. Or so i wish, haha. The previous owner still owns him and pays for the place where he stays while i pay for everything else, so basically we are sharing him. Since they had a bad start, she's somewhat scared of working with him, that's why she just feeds him while i do the rest. Which is absolutely fine with me. So the first year i have been solely working on the basics. Which means.. lots and lots of ground work and spending time with him to make him trust again. Also teaching him the lunge, giving hooves (He used to kick) and making him come to me instead of running away. I'd say we have grown into a team and he trusts me blindly by now. Wich makes me a really proud pony mama. The past months i have been working on his weight and building muscles, as well as preparing him for the rides, since i don't know how many bad experiences he had before he ended up with me and his current owner. So we are starting it slow. And I have to say he's improving a lot. I just can't describe how much i love this pony. ♥

Also, don't mind his hooves, getting them fixed tomorrow :D And i know that his muscles ain't perfect yet but hey.. Compared to when i met him he looks so much better. ^^ It just takes a bit longer for a "old" horse.
