So, I didn't know what to call this but you might understand after the story. My parents were using the computer as normal to find ads for horses. They normally looked for ones that can't be cared for anymore or the owner can't pay their medical bills, because they are too much for that person. My parents of course told me at short notice on the night of Thursday 5th July 2018 that they were going to pick up a horse. (Most of this part is from my parents point of view.)
My dad called the number on advert and talked to a person named Sharon (Not saying their last name.) The horse was a 11 years old Thoroughbred Chestnut stallion that was just gelded.
My parents and one of my uncles set off up the country with a horse carrier. It took them 3 hours to get there. It was mostly a run down barn with three donkeys, a horse and a couple of chickens running around. My dad had the ad still open on his phone, so he went up to the horse and it was a match..
My mum said that a man in his 60 or 70's ran out of the barn, yelling to get off his land and he would call the police on them. My mum said in the most nice voice she could, that they were there to pick up the stallion from a Mrs Sharon. Man was still yelling and said that he lived alone and he doesn't know a Sharon. The man explained that his stallion is the same one on the ad but this one wasn't for sale! He finally calmed down after talking for 20 minutes and allowed only my mum to check over the stallion. My parents left after that and when my mum walked in the house, she wasn't having any of it. Also a Stupid me didn't think straight to screenshot the ad and when I tried to look for it on Saturday 7th it was no there to be seen... My dad had his tab still open on it, but it came up as website not found...
Edit: My mum just said to me, after she checked the stallion all over, one that the stallion isn't 11 years old.. His teeth looked more like a 20 years old and another thing that the Stallion wasn't newly gelded... He wasn't gelded at all.
Has anyone one else had this happen to them or a friend? Edited at July 12, 2018 07:00 AM by Dark

I had this happen to me, a few times.
First was my stallion. I was told he was 3. unbroke. stallion. would mature to 15+ hands.
Some of that was true. He was 3 and unbroke. But hes a crypt. and Has stayed at 14.1 LOL I'm 5'8.... it's cool though. I still love him.
Next, is we were looking for a dog, and there was one posted for free. Contacted the people, and they said to come get the dog. That they would have it tied out on the railing, as they had to run an errand. Well we got to the apartments, in a very sketchy part of Atlanta..... and there was no dog. So i knocked on the door...... They definately had a dog... (and it was the same dog in the ad) but said they weren't looking to get rid of their dog.
Turns out someone else posted the ad trying to get this dog stolen as the owner would sometimes tie it outside the apartment to get some fresh air...... I gave them the number to the person who posted the ad and that was that..... I'm sure it didnt go quite well for whoever posted the ad. The guy was less than enthused.

That's weird. If the guy really hates people being on his land, how did they know what to put in the ad? And what's the point of it? I get the motive with jellos story, but I don't get the horse one. Unless he made someone mad and they know how much he hates visitors....i feel like they could get in huge trouble if someone had gotten shot.

A girl in Australia was recently kidnapped by someone who came to buy a horse off of her! These people came out, seen the horse and agreed to buy it. They sent forged bank transactions saying they transferred the money online, the girl figured they were fake and when the people came to collect the horse the owner got on the trailer and wouldn't move because the horse wasn't paid for, so the man shut her in the trailer and drove off!

Well, the good thing was that guns aren't allowed in my country and my mum said he calmed down after a while. When my parents to him what was happening, he still said that it wasn't his stallion up for sale.
My dad is now thinking that the 'Sharon' person was probably a old worker to the man and maybe she got mad over something and tried to sale of his stallion with false information. Good thing my parents always checks up with the owner to see, if it was truly for sale and don't take it, without asking first.
I wish I could find the ad to show you... but I can't find it anywhere on the internet... (Stupid me I didn't screenshot it.)
Edit: It might have also been a scammer or someone looking to do a prank on someone and get the person that was buying the horse in trouble with the actual owner.
