Hey guys! Do any of you have suggestions of good jumping saddle brands that are relatively cheap? I've been looking to buy my first saddle for a while, but I don't have a very high budget, and I want something that's going to last.

Bates aren't all that expensive second hand and if you're really strapped for cash, Wintec synthetics are a great alternative. Don't go "too" cheap with a saddle, with saddles you get what you pay for I have found.

Around my area you can get some great second hand wintec saddles, but Im in Europe and Wintec I believe is a UK company. New they go for around 600 euros, but second hand they go for 100-200.

Henri De Rivel are good, new and used. They're comfortable and durable.

Surprisingly, Circuit saddles by Dover are very nice. Super comfortable, well balanced, and durable. They're cheap too, especially used.

Collegiate might be worth a look, as well as Marcel Toulouse.

See what your local tack shop/consignment shop has for sale second hand.

You can get a good quality saddle for less that way.

I was going to suggest this. A well cared for but older, used nice name brand saddle will be better than a cheap but brand new saddle...it'll last forever and be more comfortable for you and your horse. I got my Stubben for $100. I'll admit I got a bit of a friend discount on that one but you should be able to find old Stubbens for a few hundred bucks. I love mine, it is very comfortable.

My son has a used (like it was 4 years old when I bought it) 16 Pessoa saddle it was $500 USD

Everyone at my barn has Pessoa or Dover saddles they a comfortable, durable, and nice looking for a good price. (I saw a new Dover saddle in 17 1/2 for $600 USD)

Completely agree with the consignment saddle thing. I've owned numerous saddles in my life and have never bought one new. A lot of used saddles are well taken care of, already broken in, and are so much less expensive. With saddle brands you get what you pay for, so I would recommend looking into consigned/used saddles from name brands :)
