You can, but better is 1-10 at the least, first 3 weeks you won’t see anything unless they are only training a single discipline

So should I just track 1-5?
ZequineZ

3-5 and 8-10. But it depends, I prefer to track until they’ve gone all up 2 times. Usually around week 10

Usually I’ll track all weeks from 4 till 15 it narrows down any weak points, they don’t all show themselves at once, don’t miss one or you’ll second guess whether you forgot or there was no change

Play games, open an adopt shop, enter your horses in shows, and buy horses with Elite & World Class ratings. That's what I've learnt 😁

English safety stirrup recommendations? March 9, 2025 11:29 AM

So lately I've been thinking of upgrading my stirrups to a safety stirrup. Right now I use fillis stirrups but I am always looking for safer alternatives with my gear, however I need something that has enough weight to it to keep it from flapping in the breeze if I lose it on course, as if it's too light the stirrups are almost impossible to get your toe back into them. I do 3 day eventing to give you an idea of the strains that will be put on them.

So does anyone have any recommendations on safety stirrups? Something that preferably has a similar weight to steel stirrups. Can't be junior ones either :)

Mine are the lemieux ones, maybe they're too light but they are grippy and I like that the safety breaks from the bottom instead of the top, which is more lifely where our feet are going to come out of anyways.

I really love mine from Ophena. Not the magnetic ones, but the ones with rubber attachments. They will come off if your foot is pulled out of the stirrup, but not if you bump it normally or lose it. They have been soooo great. I would be cautious of the metal release stirrups, they scare me because of the action they separate in. It looks to me that if your foot came out at the wrong angle it wouldn't release at all. The rubber attachment attaches at both ends and comes out whichever way you fall. If you have the budget for them, I really recommend them.
They don't flap, they aren't too light or too heavy, good in between. They also don't hurt as much when they hit you in the shins if you've dropped a stirrup!
