Chestnut is the base and roan is the modifier hence "chestnut roan" and "blue" roan is actually black roan which is what my gelding is registered as :)

Not yet! It's been 3 working days so hoping my sample gets to the lab today or tomorrow and if they are quick might have a result by Friday :)
