Maybe she's going to be chocolate palomino. There's a choco pali stallion (maybe gelding. I can't quite tell from the road) about 20 miles away from me and he's one of the most beautiful horses I've ever seen. I'm biased towards mine and I still think he's a little prettier. Your shetlands are so dang cute! I need one of my own. The only shetland sized horse/pony I have has major attitude.

I hope you're right! I love the dark sooty palominos, my mares dam is a dark liver and I wonder if the smutting has come from her line. I'm actually really looking foorward to watching her coat changes. I saw an article about another lady who's palomino foal was shedding out black - the foal ended up being 50 shades of palomino - ranged from golden with light smutting to heavily smutty in the wamer months.

Lacey and I had a bit of fun with Koda this morning. I lunged him first then threw the pad on and plonked Miss 4 on board :)

I love little chonky roan. I miss when I was small enough to ride ponies. One of the horses we had when I was tiny was a 38" AMHR stallion we called Bucks. He never bucked, it was just part of his name on paper. He was a gray pinto that refused to stay in fences about 6 years down the line, but he was a fun little dude and any kid could be released on him when he wasn't hunting for a place to escape. Seeing your ponies makes me miss my little brat. We still have 3 of his daughters though, so I have a piece of him.

We're borrowing this little lady off of a friend until our youngesters are broken in for the kids. Patty (Syeda Park Patience) is a 10hh 7 year old palomino shetland mare who is educated under saddle. Patty is going to go to pony club with my daughter this year. She's just a sweetheart!

This morning before it got too hot I decided to pull Patty out of the paddock and saddle her up for my daughter to have a ride on. This is Lacey's second time on the lunge line, first time trotting on the lunge. Today we worked on steering and moving forward. Lacey has reins attached to the halter so she can hold the reins but not bump or yank on Patty's mouth. She is quite natural at holding the reins, Patty is a bit strong and a typical greedy shetland so I will be investing in a grass rein to stop her from pulling the reins out of Lacey's hands. Here they are ^_^

Adorable! <3
Also, your Australian landscape is so mind blowing to me. Looks like you can see for miles!
