Just did a lunge with him today. Jumped up to 3' 6" on the line which is his highest ever :) Lunging really helps him slow down and concentrate before the fence for some reason which is great since I want to show him in hunters. I'll ride tomorrow and update again

Did some no stirrup work today, I missed the deadline to sign up for XC schooling which is a major bummer... hoping I can go to my local XC facility before school starts back up again

Good jump lesson today! We did a 2 stride line and a gymnastic again. My trainer tried to scare Baloo by knocking the jumps up pretty high and it didn't work haha

We may possibly show recognized USEA next month at our first horse trials which will be fun!

Since the opportunities will be in front of my for the next qualifying period I'm shooting for AECs (American Eventing Championships) 2021.

Obviously it's just a goal, nothing I'm jet set crazy on but my trainer and his wife and some of the other students go every year so I might as well take a shot at it! My trainer said Baloo and I are on a really good track right now and I may be competing Novice by the beginning of next year :D

Two shows next month! One is a horse trials and one is a clear round jumper show! Super excited!

Had a really good jump lesson today. Worked on tighter turns and some sharper angles. Jumped a bit bigger as well (around 2'6"-3'). My trainer really loves Baloo and the potential he has to really be a nice event horse.
Im competing in schooling HT in September at BN level. We discussed doing novice but agreed that Baloo needs show experience and needs work on dressage before moving up so well stay at BN probably until next spring, just training Novice and Training in my lessons :)

Haven't ridden in a few days. Show for next month got cancelled. I'm going through some things behind the screen including being kind of burnt out at the moment and unmotivated to ride. Just waiting for the spark to come back lol.

Had a good ride today. Jumped the barrels a few times and did some light flat work. I've been sick for the past 4-5 days so I wasn't feeling to great and stopped early

It's possible my journey with Baloo may be coming to an end, thought I can't yet be sure. More details to come :)

Had a good ride these past couple days! My arena is now soup with the rain from Hurricane Laura that travelled up here so no riding for quite a while lol

This next week is going to be a deciding factor into whether or not I'm keeping Baloo longer or selling him. I am aiming at adopting a very pretty little Mustang mare from the BLM but right now we are having some minor issues I'm hoping are resolved.
