A while back I used to use the CA methods (on my broke/semi broke/in training) horses for ground work, and didn't really see anything wrong with it until years later. My horses tended to be more fearful of me, (not scared, just not my best buddy, all better now) and would become nervous whenever I tried to work with them. I have now switched to a much quieter liberty and natural method, which is way better, I find making a partnership is much better than having a dictatorship.

I have limited horse experience, but I do completely retrain huskies that have had very tough pasts, aswell as help people who need tips with them. With Lucky, he had a lot of fear and anxiety, Im guessing very similar to a mustang. We worked a lot on our bond and trusting one another before we went into training of any sorts. So I really would suggest getting the horse to trust you before you start training. Edited at March 8, 2021 01:00 PM by Lucky Ranch

LOTS of groundwork, dont rush. You will never get anywhere if you dont rush. CA does have some good training methods but like others said, I would not use them on my unbroken/young horses. Check out EMM "daily training videos" or people like Elisa Wallace or Vanfleet mustags. If you have any questions, you can PM me or post here and someone will hel you out! Congrats and Good luck!
