My Trainer: You get five tries, if you fail them all then you can hop off, untack your horse and come in and watch, okay? The Riders (Including Me): I understand. My Trainer: Good. Go out and do the exercise. The Riders: What exercise? You never told us what to do. My Trainer: I did, *sighs* says exercise.

For context; the show we were competing at has classes based on height, so there's a small horse class which is for horses of around 15.2hh. My trainer, who was also the course builder and designer for this show and I was on her course building team. (Now, in the UK, people use all kinds of methods to get their horses legally measured at 15.2hh for these classes) and it particularly annoys my trainer when she sees a horse competing in the 15.2 class which very clearly is way too big to be 15.2hh.
My trainer picked up a big metal saw (for cutting branches to decorate the jumps).
Me: Adrienne, what's that for?
My trainer: I'm going to make these 15.2s real 15.2s.
