Okay, I'm on the hunt for decent cross country boots for my pocket rocket eventer!

This search is so frustrating because I can't try the boots before buying them because I live in a very rural area on a tiny green island with only like two places that sell some kind of event/cross country/racing boot. So I have to take my chances and buy them online. Already see my issue?

So I want to know what the eventers of HEE would recommend. Because I'm tired of buying boots - which quite frankly are expensive enough - off a limb; them not fitting and/or me hating them.

Criteria -
Polycarbonate strike guard
Breathable (a must)
Preferably light weight
Protective
I would love it if they were brown, but black could suffice, I suppose.
And available to the UK and Ireland (ecogold is non-existent over here, unless I pay hefty shipping fees, which I'm not going to do)
And also, not break easily

I have tried a couple different brands and... not liked them. They're either not the right size, they move and slip around (makes me SO mad), too stiff or just aren't good quality.

I haven`t evented for a while but when I did I always used woof boots. They`re protective, breathable, and the ones I used then are still holding up 5ish years later.

For anyone wondering...

Some Brands I've used and my opinions on them (on the particular boots that I used):
Premier Equine- fit my criteria and sell at around £50ish-£60ish. Only one problem; they're absolutely massive. Which is a pain for buying online. If you do buy PE boots, go down a size!
Woof Wear- these were good until the strap broke right off. Probably lasted a few months. They also didn't have a front strike guard. Cost me around £60.
Le Mieux- I love le mieux. But their cross country boots... Not so much. They slip like crazy. No amount of tape can stop them. They just don't seem contoured to fit my pony's legs. They do have the front strike guard though, are very lightweight and breathable and are really affordable at only £40ish. They also seem to be holding up.

Kentucky- haven't tried em. They look quite heavy and not very breathable? I'm not sure if they have a front strike guard. (Would love to know if anyone has got a pair)

I see a lot of upper level riders using Majyk Equipe and my friend has a pair, they seem pretty nice. They're lightweight and her horse has a problem with touching fences a little on landing and they've protected his legs pretty well. I'm not sure if they're available in the UK and they don't have brown unfortunately.

I gave in and bought Premier Equine boots in a size smaller. Just couldn't find what I wanted, oh well.
