I feel like y'all have forgotten how many people were dying from covid back in 2020...And how many survived who now have irreversable health problems. I had a friend on here (I don't know if she still plays) who caught covid. She now has permanent heart damage in her early 20s from it. I know other people who have long term brain fog and exhaustion from it. As a side note, vaccines don't prevent you from getting an illness. They prime your immune system to be aware that the illness is out there so it can mount a better defense. Vaccines are like seat belts: they won't prevent you from getting hurt in a car accident, but they will prevent you from being launched through the windshield and becoming a red smear on the pavement...Which, y'know. Tends to be fatal.

I also know someone with heart damage at that age. She can barely ride anymore, she's fainted and fallen off a few times now, and one of these times she'll get seriously injured. I personally hate vaccines, but will always get them. I hate that things are changing in my body, but I know it's good, I trust the research, I trust the scientists, and I will continue to do so.

I had the first two right when they came out just because I was eligible even though I did not have much fear of Covid. I was super weak the day after the second (lightheaded and could barely walk), then things cleared up. I have had the virus probably before I got it and still after I got it, but thankfully no major problems from the virus itself.

I took it once. I always get the flu vaccine, but wanted to wait with Covid until it was a little more developed and researched. My job forced me to get it, however. I ended up with a severe allergic reaction and tachycardia, resulting in a three day hospital stay. They've warned me never to get it again.

Sweetwater Creek said: I didn't trust it came out too quickly and was oddly forced on people. I don't even get a flu shot anymore, it would always get me sick. I haven't had the flu since I last got the vaccine. I had covid once and it was pretty mild worst thing was no smell.
Foggy Forest Stables said: Personally, no. There were too many things that didnt add up about the covid vaccine.. how quickly it came out, how little testing was actually done on it, and now all the health problems that its being proven to cause? Ill take getting some viral infection every year over the long lasting effects it had proven to have. But I respect anyones reasons for getting it. Others have their reasons for getting, just the same as I have my own for not getting it. 🤍 Edit to add, that I have personally watched family members get hit worse with covid AFTER the vaccine, rather than before. Strep hits me worse than covid ever did.
These were / are my mindset too. I also was a little suss because of how quick it was introcuded and how hard they pushed for everyone to have it. Like Foggy said, everyone has their personal reasons for getting it / not getting it and that is fine. Everyone should respect each other <3.

Yeah, I feel like quite a few are misinformed about how things like vaccines work. I got the shot. I went to visit family across the country earlier this year. My grandmother has COPD (a lung condition) and Covid could lead to her being hospitalized or worse. I'm not risking my family. Vaccines like the Covid vaccine have been being worked on for many, many years. Some other strains of the Coronavirus (of which Covid-19 is a type) cause the common cold, and we have many ways of preventing and treating the common cold, including vaccines. Developing something like that when you have a giant team of doctors and billions of dollars isn't nearly as hard as it would be to develop a vaccine for a disease we know nothing about. A lot of folks seem to be caught up in the side effects (through no fault of their own; they can look scary). Side effects come with anything medical. The flu vaccine can cause some pretty severe side effects, but they're unbelivably rare. It was a pandemic; the way it was pushed made perfect sense to me. If the majority of the population got the vaccine the devistation the pandemic could have caused would be lessened; and it's still estimated to have killed a lot more than was reported. I had covid after I was vaccinated. It amounted to what was basically a bad flu; my sense of smell was screwed up for about a week after my other symptoms disappeared. My boyfriend who was not vaccinated had a much worse time. Bedbound for a few days, was only able to walk after day 3. It was bad. I do not regret getting the vaccine. I will always encourage folks to listen to the people who went to school for years for this.
