Hello everyone! I am 20F and still don't have my ears pierced, but am looking to get a lobe piercing. Should I go to a Clarie's type place or piercing place? I've read that Claire's isn't that place to go, but are piercing places, like, sketchy at all? Or way more pricey? Thanks! EDIT - Thank you everyone! I have found a piercing place near me and will make an appt soon! :D Poll Question: Where to get my ears pierced?Total Votes: 9

Hi!! When I got my ears pierced (I have two piercings), I went to Icing which is similar to Claire's in that it's a mall type place, decently cheap. My first piercing went fine, no issues. However, when I got my second piercing, something went wrong with my right ear healing and now I have like a bump of scar tissue kind of surrounding the piercing that, if I wanted it gone, I'd have to get surgically removed. It's not painful or anything but it still annoys me. On top of that, my second piercings never really healed properly and I can still squeeze out puss from time to time and I've even had them bleed before if I wear cheap earrings. So all in all, I would definitely go to a piercing place if/when I get a third piercing. If you do your research beforehand, check out their social media pages, etc., I'm sure it'll be no problem to find one that isn't sketchy. And it'll be worth it if it's a little pricier to ensure that everything heals properly and you don't have to deal with any side effects lol. Hope this helps!

Please don't go to Claire's they really shouldn't be allowed to do peircings. A peircing shop is the way to go, hands down. I have NEVER been to a Claire's that was even remotely as clean as a peircing shop. Peircers are experienced and see their clients often and are actually in the industry. Claire's is in the industry of selling cheap crap.

My sister got her piercing at Claire's and it did not go well. Years later she went to a piercing place, and though the process (meaning leaving in the earrings, cleaning them, etc.) was a lot longer, her ears hardly ever get angry anymore. Please don't go to Claire's.
