It was stormy. And loud. Very loud.
I heard the panicked shouts of two-legs around me. It was hard to stand up. The large structure swayed underneath me. I looked to my mother for protection, and help. But at that horrific moment,I realized something: The door keeping us in the tight box, had dissapeared... as well as my mom. I took my chance and bolted. The floor was wet and slippery. I skidded when I tried to stop.I bumped into a very angry two-leg. It turned around, and kicked me away, landing his foot square in my ribs. That hurt. A lot. I swear I almost passed out. As I continued galloping around the slippery surface, looking for my mom,I got soaked. All around me was water. Endless. The sky was an ominous grey. Two-legs were running around, all of whom could care less about a small foal running rampant.
And suddenly, the floor lurched. The structure was doing a vertical turn. I started sliding. Then... it was water. All that endless water had enveloped me,and I did all I could to stay afloat. I paddled for about three minutes, before I was so exhausted,I passed out.

As soon as I heard the rumble of the truck, pulling through those gates, all senses were on high. I was pacing in my stall, very impatient for grain and hay. I guess I hyped up all the horses. Except for Anny. She was old. And very grumpy. Like... all the time. "Oi! Shut it Aiec! You're about as annoying as Domia was!". The barn went silent. I tucked myself in the back corner of my stall."Sorry,I guess.",I whimpered. Domia was my best of friends, and she was sold a couple years ago. Her owner had come up with health problems and couldn't keep her horse any longer. It was a sad day for the entire barn. Everyone adored her, even Anny. But,everyone knew I was the most heartbroken. We had been friends ever since the... boat sank. We were the only foals left. Our mothers and friends had gone down with the ship. We had a close bond ever since.
Now,I felt like that had been lost. But,I almost immediately perked up. The food lady was coming down the aisle, with food! I whickered, and the entire barn seemed relieved.

After we had eaten our morning grain,it was paddock time. I hadn't been ridden in quite awhile,so I thoroughly enjoyed kicking up my heels and having a damn good time. The food lady came and scolded me for accidentally breaking a fence board. Accidentally.

Change is coming. Prepare yourself. For happiness it may be,but great sadness will arise. Do not be joyous, for any bit of happiness will be drowned, and deep depression will fall.

I had those words stuck in my head. Why would I go from happy to sad? What change is coming that I would be so happy about?
Well,I found out the next day.

My owner wasn't happy with my current home,so I was being moved to another barn. I was sad to leave my friends, but where the human tells me to go I must go.This new barn was much larger than my old home. I stayed in my stall for the first week or so,but when I went into my paddock for the first time,I understood. Great happiness was coming.
Domia was my paddock mate.
The oncoming days were ones of happiness. The days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. I had completely forgotten about this "deep depression".
"I'm pregnant."
I mean... quite the surprising thing to wake up to.I was even more excited than I had ever been before. Domia was having a foal! The next few months of pregnancy went smooth.
Until her 11th month.
And it all went downhill.
First it was colic.
Then it was surgery.
Then there was worry of a stillborn foal.
The vet was out here constantly.
And finally, the night came. She gave birth. To triplets.

To Be Continued...
