The storm raged, the trees fell and cracked into the mountains, huge divots and holes were formed, caves for a new generation. The drakaina shuffled her wings and launched into the air, her wings pounded the air with a tremendous force and she pinned her wings to her sides, she dove into the water clutching a whale with her talons, she dragged it up to her cave and landed with a thud, she hungerly ripped open the carcas and devoured the flesh crunching bones and ripping muscle, not quite full but not starving and glanced around, the blood and water drenched the room and sinew and bones decorated the cave but the drakaina’s posture told that something was not right, she looked at her eggs and nudged them with her nose, little did the dragon embryos know that only two of the three could actually hatch, the other...was bound to a rider, only to hatch when it was found.

“Wake up!” the man shook her awake and she sat up, she saw a grand castle waiting there. She followed the man inside dragonet perched on her shoulder, the man turned”you have to take a test, it will show where you specalize and what level you start at,” she nodded telling him he could continue”the five levels are easy, apprentice, beginner, user,expert, and master, master is the longest, to graduate your rank its a school year, every year you advance but master is the longest at 2 years” Luna felt dazed with the level of it all”all we need is blood from you and the dragon, to show your information” he turned and walked off the girl following at his heels “here.” he handed her the needle and she pricked herself, the blood dripped onto the wood and her picture appeared, she turned to the dragonet and pricked her paw, the picture appeared beside the girl’s and the dragonet snorted. She sighed loudly, it was going to be a long first day.

Luna finally got done with the tour and headed to her first class history

She sat infront of the teachers desk and looked around but couldn’t find them, she suddenly heard a loud bang and turned to see a tall male walk in with a full stride”hello, it seems we have a new student here so lets make this quick eh? Luna im Mr.White” he nodded and handed her a text book and she drifted off to sleep within a couple minutes. She woke up when the bell rang and quickly packed up her stuff to head to dragon bonding, she rushed down the stairs and quickly sat down at a desk she looked around and read a desk plate that said Mr. whist”class today we learn how to care for are dragons” he handed out booklets “you all should have a full understanding of dragons, they are not simply a beast to be ridden from one place to another, they are a companion and friend.When a dragon chooses you , cherish the bond for it was you they hatched for and nobody else,they are not mindless pets and both of you should agree on a name, if you haven’t already named your dragon that will be your homework for tomorrow”. The class was relatively quick and she looked at her schedule to find she had lunch next, she decided to skip it and go to the library.

She sat in the library reading, she still needed to find a name for the dragonet beside her, she got to a page of female names and started reading them off, she had gone through iven,alinda,saphire,diamond,and frost, she looked at the last name”kayda?”she felt a strong urge that it was correct “kayda it is” the dragonet nodded and puffed smoke on her, she laughed as the dragon grabbed her arm playfully “welcome to the castle” she looked up and saw a tall man standing there, he held out his hand”im Arion.”she grasped his hand” im Luna, this is Kayda” she gestured to the dragonet “I brought you some food” he floated the plate of food down”thanks”she fed kayda a chunk of meat and she tore into the bread, she drank a huge portion of water and wiped her mouth”where is your dragon?” she looked around” oh! Vrael and me are in master level, he is full grown and to big for school” he rubbed his head and sat down”you should get to class, I can walk you.”he held his hand out and she grabbed it, he pulled winter to her feet and they walked to her next class. “here we are” Arion nodded and walked away his long hair hugging his back, she stepped in the classroom and sat down in a seat” thats my seat newbie!” she turned around and saw a tall honey colored girl standing there”you heard me so move!” she yelled and kicked the chair sending Luna sprawling onto the floor, Kayda snarled and lunged nipping the girls foot”ENOUGH” the girl spun around and saw a large stern looking lady standing there”Aerin! Office now!” Aerin turned, her face showing rage”you will not get away with this.”she stomped off and the teacher walked over extending her hand”I assume your Luna?” she nodded and grabbed the teachers hand”you can sit where you were, I asure you this won’t happen again” the teacher turned and grabbed a staff, the huge curtain twitched, no its a curtain is can’t twitch “Im Mrs, evergreen, I teach object transformation, this class is the most dangerous, if you play around you will leave!” she tapped the bored and it changed “the main Item of transformation is energy, it takes energy from you or your surroundings to perform a spell, it can and will kill you if not used properly”she set books down for everybody”read pages one through twenty” she turned and sat down writing a report

“Okay class! Time for trivia!” she split the class into teams, “luna go join white” she walked over and then realised almost everyone there was part of Aerins friend group”don’t answer anything newbie, we have a winning streak” Luna felt crowded and insecure, time passed and everytime she wanted to answer they cut her out, “Luna! This is the tie breaker.”she grabbed a sheet of paper”what has a bank but no money?” winter laughed loudly “thats easy! It’s a river” the teacher raised an eyebrow, “white wins!” the gold team sighed “you got lucky.” the girls gave her a frown and packed up

“How did it go?” Arion walked beside Luna”it was terrible!”she went on about how everybody was mean to her they walked to the cafeteria and she was speechless dragons of all colores filled the room, the building was an open pavilion as huge dragons filled the room,the two sat down and watched as Arion dug into the salad”why do you not eat meat?” she looked at him curiously”we elves respect nature of all forms, we do not eat the flesh of animals, but we respect the rest that do” he whistled and a huge silver dragon dove from the sky,his scales mixing with the night sky, the dragon pulled its wings up and landed with a thud”welcome vrael” the dragon snorted and tore into a hunk of pig and blinked at Luna “hello” the voice drawled out and she jumped”yes they can talk” Arion said around a mouth of bread”you should eat.” he gestured to the platter and she grabbed a huge chunk of freshly baked bread”you don’t have to refuse meat around me.”he looked at her with an amused smile”we could never afford meat.”she looked down ashamed”besides I prefer bread with butter” she felt a pain and looked down at kayda, the dragonet was licking her hand, she dropped a chunk of meat and kayda lunged hungerly”kayda you eat so much” she laughed and looked at Arion and felt a twinge. Aierin walked over and sat down “hello arion” she cooed and wrapped an arm around him,Luna glared at her with enough intensity to move a mountain” you didn’t know we were dating did you?” she laughed and scooted closer to Arion” hey love, how are you?”Arion proceeded a conversation with Aerin until finally Luna stood up done with Aerin making hidden comments about her”Luna where are you going?” Arion went to move but she glared at him and leaving the dragonett to catch up by herself.
