There it was again.

*creEAaK*

I broke out in a cold sweat as I sat up in bed. Moonlight streamed through the crack in the curtains, creating a beautiful, almost sinister feel about my bedroom.

I was more awake now, and fear had taken over me.

I could hear nothing. The night was so still and quiet, it was as if the whole of planet Earth was sleeping. There was no whooshing wind in the tall trees outside, no pouring rain creating small rivers on the sidewalk.

I carefully got out of bed and peeked through the crack in my door.

Then I saw it.

A tall figure, dressed all in black, wearing a cape and top hat. I was really panicking now. Who was this person? And what were they doing here?

Then, the unthinkable ocurred.

I could feel it coming, an ominous telltale tickle in my nose.

I sneezed.

The figure turned, quieter than a mouse, and stared straight at me.

I could see it's face now, and what it looked like was something out of a horror film.

Deep set eyes, sunken, hollow cheeks, thin, closed mouth.

I wanted to scream but my mouth wouldn't open. I wanted to run but my legs wouldn't move.

It was like I was having a terrible nightmare.

Except that this wasn't just a dream.

I was living the nightmare.

To my horror, the figure turned and silently started advancing towards me, like a train moving out of a station. I could hear it breathing now, a hollow, rasping breath; a sheep with a headache.
